Price for a ticket?
You are looking at one Huge VH fan ... but with the way the tour is going, I will be "damned" to pay over $125 for a ticket to see a 16 year old on bass... two men who may not be able to stand one another ... and the same old set list (plus the "Look at all the people here tonight .. I forgot the words ... ect.)
Granted Eddie was not on top of his game for the 2004 tour .. but Mike and Sam were! Two professionals who delivered there part of the show! Period!
Makes me think the if the "Other Half" toured again .. you may get a better "outing" for your money. Plus I am sure they would make new music, or play some great covers that the crowd would love!
"Too much Drama" already killed the possible VH Tour! Ed being quiet for the last 10 years .. never telling how much the fans meant to him .. ect.
Like the post ahead of mine .. "Let the good times and memories" of a great band remain. No need to make this Tour a joke!
Just my .02

Depends on if they are really going to play amphitheaters. I'm thinking of the Molson Amphitheater here in Toronto for these prices.
Lawn section: $50-70
300 Level: $75-80
200 Level: $120-130
100 Level: $145
Floor Seats: I don't eve wanna think about how much those are going to sell for... my guess is there will only be select floor seats for sale to the public... they will all be offered through contests and ticket packages... but if they were offered to us... I'd guess... $180 to $200 PLUS... and I mean a BIG plus!!!My man, when you are fantasizing, don't go for attainable, you can get attainable at the local Applebee's. - Dave's Dreidel

Yeah. but the price of entertainment ((and how far one's entertainment dollar will go) is relative to demand, be it sports or rock n roll.
Sadly, a figure of that size is all the more common with aging bands looking to pad their 401K plans. Maybe a little bit more astuteness on their overall career spending habits would have left them in not such a lurch.
I mean come on, 500 bills to see the Eagles or Stones? High priced, yes. Yet at least one has a fairly good guarantee that they'll show up, be in a semi-sober (instead of wasted and barely able to play their guitar) state and put on a crowd pleasing and therefore worthwhile show.
Fortunately, when it comes to paying ridiculous prices for Dolphin tickets, I know beforehand that they are going to suck."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

All tickets should be 25% off since Mike won't be involved.

Achievements:
I believe the original lineup would be worth between $250 to $500 out of my pocket and VH 4 is worth about $85 to $150, if that!

We'll, I'm figuring on $85/tick + ticketmaster's charge for the honor of selling me the tickets (which is another thread right there). Probably $95-$98. Trying to save for a house, so the budget really won't allow any more than that.
Don't drink the Jim Jones punch. They're called theToxic Twins for a reason...

not to make this a "other half vs. Van Halen" thread but I went and saw Mike and Sam over the summer, I paid 20 bucks for 2 tickets. Got there early and they had a beach set up, you could play mike's bass and sammy's guitars, they had a tequilla stand set up, it was like a big party. Honestly it was fun as hell, hot chicks bikini's, it don't geet much better. I felt ripped off when I saw VH in 04, I paid big $$$ for tickets at the presale and when we got there we were way out in BFE and people who bought thier tickets that day had better seats than me for cheaper. I did have a good time at the show but I was pissed at the money I spent.

Keep in mind that Bob Seger hasn't had new music or toured in 10 years and his cheap tickets are $100 for this summer...... just for comparison purposes.
And as far as Hagar goes......yeah, it's great that his tickets were around 10 bucks last year, but even at that, the two shows I was at were half full at best.....what does that tell you ?Lode's Facebook

How much do you think Pink Floyd would cost if they toured this year without Roger Waters and no new album?
I would venture to say the cheapest ticket would be at least 100 dollars and they have not had a full length album since about 94/95. Hagar was still in the band for his first stint since they have released something.

have u ever been to the ampitheatre? there are no floor seats. Level 100 are up against the stage.
I'd assume a ticket price very close to the 2004 tour, maybe 5 or 10% higher (inflation). Losing Mike hurts but getting Dave back offsets that I would think as far as pricing is concerned.

VH has me by the balls. I made up my mind immediately that I'm going and there really isn't any price that will scare me off. Problem is, I want to take my 15 year old nephew just so he can always say he saw Eddie in person. My plan is to buy him his ticket so this one could get pricey for me.
