Going to vacation in New Orleans
I am going to vacation in New Orleans in less than three weeks. Does anybody know some places to go too and do besides Burbon Street? Thanks.

I was there a couple of years ago, before the hurricane. Check out the World war 2 museum. It was great, if you like that kind of stuff. Also, the boat tour of the swamps was good. They take you to see gators. Check out the music. There's a lot of good blues and jazz. Garry Brown was one cool cat. Very energenic performance. Cresent City Brewery had good micro brews that they make. I hit that place everyday. Good food too. It's on Decatur St. It was one of the best vacations that I ever had.

STAY THE HELL OUT OF SOME PARTS OF DOWNTOWN!!!! Plus, learn to run in a Zig Zag formation, just incase you hear gunfire. Never know, it might be coming for you.
I was there a couple of months ago. The French Quarter is still insane, meaning that it's quite normal, however there are parts of downtown that are real shitty place to be and you don't wanna be there after sunset. The National Guard still has numbers patrolling, along with La State Police and NOPD. The NOPD is in really bad shape right now.....moral, personal..etc.
I'd go to the Quarter, because there are lots of peeps down there. I'd go see the Lower Ninth Ward (durning the day), just to see the destruction. The Aquarium of the America's is really cool, as is the River Walk Shopping Center, which is right next door from the aquarium. Jax brewery is really cool. Hell, I'm having a brain fart because I can't seem to remember what else there is to do. Ummm, go see a real New Orleans Jazz Band. You'll enjoy it. Pat O'Brians......for the drinks.
If I can think of other places, I'll post em for ya.

I live about 90 minutes away from New Orleans. Definetly check out Bourbon Street. You should also try a beignet. It's a local type of pastry. They're very good.
