Calling All Guitar Players/ Amp help needed!!

    Hi fellas,

Anyway, I need halp on a good cobo amp 1-12" under $500 bones. I've owned nothing but Peavey all my life, but I'm ready to move on. I've tried Marshall stuff. The MG just feels and sounds cheap. The Avt series seems cool with effects and multiple channels but it sound weird to me. I really would like to "that " Marshall sound but I haven't found anything yet.

I'm thinking about just going back to the Peavey Bandit Transtube, but damn I want something different. What about Crate. They make plenty of amps under $500 with effects, sound fairly nice for cheap solid state?

Just give me your opinions, your amps, etc. Obviously I play tons of Halen and the amp will be hooked up to my Wolf Standard.

Let's go boys! Help needed. We'll see if you're worth more than I think you are! Just kidding....

Check out ebay and snag you a 5150 Combo, I know it is not 1X12, but you can get them for around your price or a little less shipped, save money if you can drive and pick it up.

I'm sold on my Kustom Quad 100 DFX. Solid state, 2-12" Celestions & 100 watts for $349 (I paid $329 through MF over a year ago). Here is the catch. The effects I don't use just because there a little hokey. I run my Pod XT through it and it sounds very impressive. My band likes it, I like it and that is enough for me. Oh ya my first one died on me after a year and a local authorized dealer refused to honor Kustoms 3 year warranty so Kustom paid for me to send the amp back to them, then they sent me a brand new updated version with better speakers.Service,Service,Service!!! Live, I never have to go past 3 because it's plenty loud. I've been playing for over twenty-five years had lots of different equipment and this Kustom fits my need for now, and if I want to expand in the future it can easily power a 4-10" cab.

I got lucky and landed a 5150 Combo for $330 local pickup on eBay a couple of weeks ago. With that purchase I've got every version of the 5150 series and lots of Wolfgangs, and they really are the perfect complement to one another.

Otherwise, I own one of the Tech 21 Trademark series amps, and it's pretty impressive. I've also seen some good things from Vox and Crate.

The Tech 21 products are great, for solid state amps.

I have the Kustom Quad 100 DFX as well. However I got a steal at $225 brand new. It does not have enough gain for my tastes so I do the same as you. I run a Zoom 505 pedal thru the clean channel and get all the distortion I need. This amp is loud, not sure I would go above 2 1/2 on the volume.

If you don't need an all-tube amp, I'd definitely say a
VOX AD60VT(or VTX) or a Rocktron Replitone.
    There's other Valvetronix models, but the AD60 & 120
have the full complement of effects and connections.
You can usually find one of these two for under
$500 on Ebay. If you need to buy something new, and
don't need the full effects range options of the AD60,
there's more affordable shit like the AD50 & so on.

If you're not gigging, they're more suitable amps to play at
home than a 5150 combo if volume is an issue.
    FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!
