The ultimate F*CK you to Dave

Ok, there are only a few possible reasons for Mike to be playing with Sammy (and not with Dave)

A)Mike is no longer in VH
B)To convince Sammy to rejoin VH
C)There is no Van Halen anymore

...but wouldn't the ultimate Fuck You to Dave's ego be if this was all an elaborate plan to reunite with Sammy, and one day, maybe at Universal Ampitheatre, Eddie and Alex are behind the curtain?

Ya know it could be altogether possible...

Mike shows up at the Il. show, cruises backstage, says howdy to everybody and flips the bird at every camera in sight...

then asked "Where's Dave's room?"

Heads down the hall... runs into Dave's goons and says "Hey let me talk to ole Nimrod?"

I think MA would play with Dave if he asked, but for some reason I don't think Dave would ever ask.
I think Ma wants Sam back and not Dave, and I'm sure Dave knows this and is maybe holding a grudge. Who knows.
When they were interviewing Mike before the Indy show, he jokingly made a remark that he was in town auditioning singers. A bit tongue in cheek, however, I think there may be a bit of truth to the fact that if Mike plays/hangs with Sammy, that Sam may get back in the band before Dave does.

sammy and mike are tight. and mike prolly doesn't get along with dave all that well either. if he did, why wouldn't he play with him??

Who cares? Mike playing with Sam just makes the concert that much better. Why look for a hidden meaning when you can just enjoy it?

I want to see the reunion with Dave as much as anyone.

But if I had to choose based on what I saw at 6/1, I would say Sammy is the better choice.

It appears that Dave just didn't have it that day......

I think Sammy has invited as many hired guns as he can find to pump up his show and Mike's one of them. He had Metallica in San Francisco too. It's not Mike trying to say fuck you to Dave, it's Sammy.

Either way, Sammy kicked total ass, and put on a much better show than Dave.

It's a well known fact that Mike and Dave were never as tight as Mike and Sammy are. Mike playing with Sammy is just an added bonus and as to his reasons why it's probably as simple as he has nothing better going on right now ie-Van Halen.
