I have been reading this board for years and all you people have talked about was this band touring again, and how so many wanted the original line up back and how it was never going to happen and how disappointed everyone was going to be and on and on and on......... NOW the original singer is back, they are going to tour and all I am reading is so much CRAP and COMPLAINING...I am stunned!!!!! I know that everyone is disappointed that Mike won't be there, but my God people...it's Eddie and Dave back on stage together!!! You know, this could be such a long preachy post...so I will end it by saying that only the die-hard, true and true to the SOUL Van Halen fans know what I mean...and most of you should be just about my age!

I'm exactly your age, and I understand your point. However, for those of us who have been waiting for this band reunion for all of these years, it's more than just a little disappointing that it won't be the original lineup. There are some of us who feel that Mike's 1/4 of the original chemistry will leave a huge hole in this new project. You're right...it's great that Ed, Al and Dave are going to bury the hatchet and work together again. Personally, I never thought that would happen...ever. But just as that hurdle gets jumped, Ed develops a problem with Mike and after all of these years, it won't be the original four. The bitching your talking about is everyone's disappointment, and I understand that as well as I understand your point.

I have been fortunate enough to get MA's autograph, chat with him. EVH just walked away. That's fine.

I think most people here feel that MA is a big part of VH and that he has always been appreciative towards the fans.

The VH brothers basically sit around doing nothing, so Michael plays on a tour with Hagar. Now (IMO) alot of fans feel that EVH stabbed Michael in the back by replacing him with Teen Wolf.

I think that most fans feel that Michael deserves......has earned the right to be treated with respect by the other members of V.H.

In other words, Dave is back, but the band isn't.

Yes, of course having Mike would have been the ultimate, the original line-up. I am not dismissing that. I guess we all pretty much have figured out that Ed, as much as we love and admire the man for his talent, has alot of demons and issues. I was just trying to say that to at least see Ed & Dave together again, hopefully with that chemistry that they once portrayed,will be awesome.

Its not the original line up. Although I really do hope that Wolfie has the chops to get up there and lay down the groove. He is only 15 years old. Maybe its true that he can play and that he has sparked life ito Al and Ed. Only time will tell. Now that all being said...This tour is about 10 years too late. Allot of water has passed under this bunch in the last 10 years. Maybe time to replace some of the tressles.

I get ya, and you're right...hopefully, it'll work between Ed and Dave. Time will tell, I guess. But what's bugging most of us is that it won't be the whole band. One of my favorite live performances from original Van Halen is from the South American concert (I can't remember which one) where they do Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers by ZZ Topp. That defines the band, to me. You've got Dave and Mike trading off on lead vocals, and Ed and Al shredding it to pieces. You watch and listen to that song, and it's a band. If anyone doubts Mike's contribution to Van Halen live, just check out that song. That's what will be missing. It might be cool as it's going to be presented, but it won't be the original band.
