Nice to see a tribute band play both Hagar and Roth. I've seen two other tributes that seem to think Van Halen didn't do anything worth playing after 1984 which is leaving out 10 years of great music. Then again, as I have posted earlier it takes some balls to try and sing Hagar. Regardless it sounds like they play some good songs, I would like to see what goes into one set.

I doubt I know what I'm talking about but seems to me that a VH Tribute band would make a killing doing a Sam and Dave Tour type show but that would require one guy that can act both or two seperate fronts altogether.

I've seen their posters too, not for a while though.

I've seen ads in "The Drum Media" too.

I know they've done some shows with a Baby Animals tribute band in the past.

I've never seen "Van Hagar" live though...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

i've seen them a few times too, the guitarist did look like eddie and he had a striped wolfgang. Has he left? Are they still playing?

There was another vh band years ago that had a crazy head banging keyboard player , he was cool.

Hans Valen - the memories of 1990!!!

Jack just played guitar. I think he did vocals on YRGM but that was it. I saw them a few times at a place called the Spyhole in Melbourne. Virgil Donati on drums - enough said (Virgil did the G3 tour with Vai & Sheehan). He did a perfect rendition of "Hot For Teacher".

The freaky thing was that as good as Jack was on guitar, we later learned that he was an unbelievable singer as well. Apparently they were recording the Southern Sons debut album during the day and moonlighting as a VH cover band to "pay the bills".

Waaaay too much talent to be playing covers. I was glad they had so much success as Southern Sons.

I saw another VH cover band around 1996 in a pub in Richmond (Melbourne) but they weren't in the same league as Hans Valen. Can't remember what they were called, but the guitarist was an asian guy who must have stood in front of a mirror all day with an EVH cutout because he had the "shit-eating grin" perfected. He played a striped Kramer and was the highlight of the show.
