Default EVH Frankenstein on ebay for $30k

Music Ground in the UK has the new EVH Frankenstein listed on ebay - starting price is $29,512.50 (USD). The listing does have a lot of specs on the guitar, though, in what seems to be the official story behind this re-creation.

You'd think if they had one that they would take their own pictures of it rather than show the pictures we've already seen. Music Ground is a good shop, I've bought things from there before.

What's the Clapton 'Blackie' custom relic going to go for? Not $30,000 I bet.

Can I borrow $29,000 from someone? I figure it'll make a good retirement investment.

The original would be a good investment. There's no way to know if the replicas will hold their value...

it's just market value. that's all.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

They wouldn't have it yet. They haven't been released. They likely pre-ordered one and will ship it when it arrives.

Yes. The most probable price (in terms of money) is a price that buyers are willing but not compelled to pay for a certain product. Willing buyers set market value. These guitars sold in fifteen minutes or so I have heard. One might argue that they were underpriced. But that road leads to gouging or simply asking for too much. Not the case here obviously.

Obviously these are not musician's guitars. If they were they'd be overpriced. These are collectible nostalgic gems. If I were loaded I'd pick one up in a heart beat.

They haven't sold one yet. Damn, what is so hard about this? Dealers have ordered them. Period. Now, when the dealers sell all of them in fifteen minutes, or the dealers announce that they have all sold them already then this line of reasoning can be used.

I'm indifferent to the apprecitating potential of these things. I just tire of the lack of understanding when it comes to pricing them.

actually we should all hope that they apprectiate quite well. that would mean that eddie will have done some positive things to help their future value.

the other inevitable will also drive these things up without a doubt. (eddie's passing)
