    Default DI Box?

I have a Hughes&Kettner Switchblade head, which I love, but it doesn't have a line out so that I can run it to the PA instead of miking my cabinet. Is a DI box what I'm looking for or do I need something else? Thanks!

HK Red Box would do it. But, you still need a load for your amps output.

If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think I need something between the head and the cabinet that wouls allow the signal to go to both the cabinet and the PA. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I think this is exactly what you are wanting.

    Behringer GI100 Ultra-G DI Box.

They are $35 at Musician's Friend.

Bingo! Thanks. FYI for anyone who's looking for the same thing, the Huges&Kettner Red Box will work for this too, but it's much more expenseive.

No offense but, the Behringer stuff is generally noisy and not very reliable. Their old stuff was great but, since all of their manufacturing has moved to China the product has really suffered. It is however, very inexpensive.

The Weber Mass 100 has a DI and a Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume tone stack that works quite well when using DI only and not attenuating. I actually like this function better than its ability to attenuate. Go amp to Mass, DI out to power amp, then out to cabinet for low volume stuff, it works great.

Now you tell me VZ??? I'll check it out and return it if it sucks. If that happens, I'll just go with the H&K Red Box. Hell, my amp is an H&K and I LOVE it!

The funny thing is that I work on 48th St., in NYC, and I went to 4 different stores looking for a DI box/solution today (Yes, I know that Sam Ash owns Manny's now). Everybody I talked to told me that I wouldn't be able to find a DI box that would do what I wanted it to. Even after I told them that I knew for a fact that at least one company - H&K - makes a box precisely for my purpose...Idiots! Thank god for this forum!
