"The Love" is way older then I thought

Listen to "The Love" on the Red Voodoo album. Then listen to "Ever Since You Came" by HSAS. There's virtually no difference at all! Did I stumble upon this or is there a story I never heard behind it?

Yeah, I have it live with HSAS. Sammy gave Neal Schon credit for co-writing the song on Red Voodoo. I guess he just liked the song enough to record it years later solo.

Tons of great songs on that boot that should have been on Into the Fire but were left off. "In for the Kill" and "Hope and Fear" are 2 other great songs from that boot.

about half way down is a link to all the individual songs, don't know if they still work or not.

ESYC is a great song and it should have been released as is, The Love just doesn't really match up IMO, lots of cool stuff was left off the HSAS disk. I think they planned on doing a 2nd one but it didn't work out for some reason.

Check out tough Enough, ESYC and What will never be...all killer songs. Probably the best is ESYC with In For the Kill a close second, man I love those songs.

the love was also co written by the man known as meatloaf with sammy though he goes uncredited. it was intended on being a loaf song but then it didnt happen so sammy kept it. i think he even played it a few times on the fuck and rhrn tour rarely, instead of the eagles fly or give to live and he played it at one of neil young's bridge benefits sometime in 93 or 94.

I think you are getting it confused with Amnesty is granted. Sammy played Amnesty on the 93 tour...the love got played on the balance tour along with Someday...

I'm 100% sure he played Someday cause I was at a show where he played it, I'm 99% sure about the love and I'm 100% sure about Amnesty is granted. Sam reworked The love and wrote Someday cause he was either sick of or had forgotten some of the words to Eagles fly on the balance tour....

He did play The Love at Costa Mesa, Ca in 'Aug. of '93. There is also a boot of that show floating around somewhere.

there's a boot out there of those shows called "rockin my hometown" I've got the taped version and it's much better...he plays amnestly on the one I have but maybe he played the love on the other night and I don't know about it...who knows, I'm getting confused already.

Didn't VH have a song they were working up for Balance called the Love. I remember Sam and Ed talking about it in an interview.

this is the link for the boot that has "the love" live way back in 93... the lyrics are a bit different, but it's the same song as we know now as "the love" and once was esyc.
