I think you guys are comparing apples to orange.

I love his guitar work, but I can only take acoustic music in small doses. after about 3 of his songs, I gotta pull out some priest or vai or somthin that makes my ear bleed

don't judge until you've seen him live. seeing him living and hearing him on a cd (or seeing a youtube vid.)...THAT'S comparing apples to oranges!

This guy is in my top three with Eddie and Randy. You can't judge the guy until you see him live. I live in Ohio so its tough to see him but he has come here twice. When I leave his shows its hard to comprehend what I witnessed. He seems very nice when you talk to him however who knows.

It trips me up watching him play When Will I. The guitar he is playing underneath his singing is tricky enough however he sings on top of it.

yeah, he does and i believe it's one of his most requested songs when he plays live (along with romeo and juliet). honestly, i never really liked that song until i heard monte play it. his voice is perfect for that song, imo!

here's a video of a live performance of my favorite monte song, "Took Too Long". it shows his amazing finger work toward the end and also a pretty bad-ass solo by his bass player! enjoy!
