Dave TV

I was watching this 80s movie on comedy central earlier today. I think it was called "Weird Science". Anyway, in this one scene where they are creating this girl named Lisa, the tv they have in the room suddenly flips to this channel, and who is on the TV, but none another than DLR himself saying "Welcome to Dave TV. ALL DAVE.... ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!" Well needless to say that peeked my interest and I promised myself I would ask you guys about it. Did DLR actually have his own show in the 80s or was it just some stupid attempt at at talk show that was on for 2 episodes or was it a joke by the writers of movie?

Dave also did a series of webcasts he called DaveTV. It was either '98 or '99. They featured his artwork, some stories, bits from his book, and rare tracks. It was a real pain in the ass to watch/listen to them. They'd only be broadcast at certain times, and my connection was crap back then.

I could never get that thing to stream right over the phone. I've always been curious about that one.

first im shocked someone wouldnt know that was the intro to the gigolo video. but if you watch the film again you'd catch that in the scene this isnt a tv turning on, it's the guys building their woman - and dave rep's what they want her personality to be like. now that would seem f'd up, but in 1985 it made sense.
