    Default Anyone live near Philly?

I'm going to be in King of Prussia February 5-9. Just thought I would see if anyone knows of some things I can "get into" while I'm there .

    Thanks,

If you like to shop you can go to the King of Prussia Mall and if you like gambling; a new casino just opened at Philadelphia Racetrack Park in Bensalem, PA. I hope you have a great time

Nothing "bad" pert.....Just places to hang out. I'm doing some training up there that I HAVE to attend I assume around 8:00 every morning. Just looking for things to check out or gooooood places to eat (the company pays for the food ).

Here ya go, map. Take your pick:

    http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/

    http://www.genosteaks.com/

These places are world famous, and are right across from each other.

I'd wish to visit them both.

There is also Jim's Steaks on South Street. Very good.
Have a few cheesesteaks and hoagies. Have scrapple...a few Yuenglings...tastycakes. If you're into history theres no better place. I would tell you to check to see if the Flyers are in town (the fans are crazy) but they suck this year so I'd save your money for bars. Oh yea, don't wear any Dallas/NY shit.

Make sure you can speak english before ya go to Geno's though, map.

If I were you, I'd check out the KOP mall. As Pert mentioned, that thing is HUGE! Everything I watch the movie "Mallrats" I always think of that place. Don't bring your wallet though, because there's just so many stores. You're gonna buy shit, trust me.

If you do come to Philly, you can check out a concert at the TLA on South St, or the Trocadero on Arch St. Get a steak from Tony Luke's on Orgeon Ave, or go to Olde City for a night out. Very lovely ladies in that section of Philly.

Hope ya have a safe trip.

Cheesesteaks and Calzone, bro, Cheesesteaks and Calzone !

I go to Philly once a year just to hang out with some buddies and get some good Calzone .... You just can't find any in central Ohio ! Last summer I was even treated to a horrible VH cover band, and an ugly she-male bass player !

One thing I've found.......people in Philly are ALWAYS late...no matter where they're going or what they're doing, they'll be late ! (You know who you are!)

There is a Hooters down the street from the KOP mall on Rte 202.
The next town over is Norristown. Follow Rte 202 North @ 3 miles. You can catch the R6 train from there into Manyunk (neighborhood in Philly). Plenty of bars there on Main St.
KOP Mall has an IMAX Theater and restaraunts like Champps, Bahama Breezes, etc.
Valley Forge National Park and Valley Forge Music Fair right up the road from KOP. May be able to catch a show there
Everything in KOP centers on I-76 and rte 202. I-76 takes you into the center of Philly. Art Museum (if you want to run the Rocky steps), Olde City, University City, South St, Penns Landing all can be gotten to by this road.

For the record, the best Steaks are at Tony Lukes. Pats and Geno's suck and are for the tourists. But, Geno's is open all night.

Sucka's been spouting the accolades of Tony Lukes as well for 3 years....My next trip, I'll have to have him take me there finally ! And being they're open 24 hours...it won't matter that he's 4 hrs. late picking me up !

    Why I oughta!!!

Tony Luke's is the shit! And if you do decide to hit Manyunk as Rico mentioned, there are plenty of nice places to check out. Grape St Lounge is a nice spot. Lots of college kids hang out in Manyunk, so if that's not your crowd, I wouldn't go there.
