Hasn't been for a while unfortunately; for a band who used to say they wouldn't stick it to the fans by touring without a new album, they've sure done their share of "whore tours" and now to start pimpin' a $30K guitar? I guess nothing should surprise me these days....

One thing I don't understand is the reasoning behind wanting a striped EVH "replica" guitar. Unless you are in a VH cover band, I can't see the point? And if you are in such a band, do you have 25K to blow on a beat up looking clone?

Perhaps if you are running a theme-oriented place like a hard-rock cafe or something like that and wanted it for display purposes only.

The Wolfgangs could at least be played by guitarists without looking like they wanted to be some kind of 1980s Eddie clone. They are fine instruments.

But these striped copies...

I'm a casual guitar player, and even I wouldn't be caught dead with a guitar that looked like any version of the Frankenstrat.

Exactly. Who in their right mind would drop that kind of cash for this guitar, regardless of your income. And better yet, who in their right mind would think there would be any kind of demand for a guitar at this price. I guess you just have to consider the source. It wouldn't be the first time in recent years that Mr. EVH used bad judgment.

Yes they did. Clapton's Blackie replica went for $20,000 a pop and sold out in 7 hours and there was no complaints at all about that. Funny thing is that people on here complained about the EVH Charvel being overpriced......... (sounds like a deal now, doesn't it)
