Let me start by saying that I am totally new to posting threads, and I know you guys can just be brutal to people that do it wrong. But I am a huge fan of both VH and this sight. The first two places I go to for news is the drudge report and here. So, if I was supposed to go to a different thread I am very sorry. Long story short( to late). I have gone on bootleg sights looking for the very first vh concert I ever went to 5-10-86 at Joe louis arena with no luck. Two days ago I finally found someone who had it on dvd. I know no-one wants to sell them, but the only things I have to trade are either things that most of you guys probably already have (eyes of the night ect..) or things I could never part with (autographed guitar, ou812 monkey, guitar picks and stubs). This is very important to me and I was hoping you guys could help me out. I did email him but no response yet. Its only been two days, but I'm worried that if I have nothing to trade he wont even bother responding. Hope to hear from someone..Thanks alot...........Oh and please dont be to nasty if I did this wrong.

does the fact that this went to the bootleg network mean that no one will see it? I've always wanted to get involved with this place but never had the guts.By the way, I got nothing bad to say about sammy, mike, dave, or gary..(okay gary might have been a small mistake

, ) but van halen three still defined that summer for me.

music wise that is. Hope to hear from all of you , like I said, I've been coming here for a couple of years and feel like I would fit in to just about all your convos.

Welcome jack. I'm no expert on bootlegs, but there are a lot of 'em out there. I have roughly 1200 live VH tunes (a meager amount compared to a lot of these guys) but I don't have that one. There is one dated the 9th that looks pretty sweet though.

Here are a few links that might help you out:

www.jamtothis.com - a great place for VH bootlegs, both audio and video, with bit torrent downloads. None of them have ever been converted to a lossy format (mp3, etc.) as far as the mods there know. Heads roll if they are! You can go there, sign up and request a show if you can't find it. All of the technical info is there if you aren't familiar with bit torrent downloading.
I just checked and that show was seeded on jamtothis in '05. You might try requesting a reseed...

I knew you guys (and girls) would be great helping me on this. The only thing is that may 10th show, there was a guy behind me with a camera. (something you didnt see back then) and then 21 yrs later, I saw the stills from the concert and its almost from where I was sitting! I have to tell you guys, I'm a huge edward fan, that night was a beatles night for me!n ( I might have cried a little:

What you should do is.....

Register at www.vhtrading.com
Introduce yourself at the newbie forums
Just hang out over there and see what happens
Its a great VH website with a lot of good traders
You can always trade 2 blanks for 1 dvd.
Another thing what could happen is that someone send ya the dvd for free, i have done that many times myself, just send a copy to the next one who wants a copy.

Funny thing
Right now we are discussing this show in tradechat.
There seems to be different versions available.
The version i have is incomplete and generated
We are hunting down the full master tape.

the most complete one I found is 137 mins it doesnt have a song list but thats the longest one I found. I just cant find contact info. I do have some mst3ks do you think anyone would be interested in those

I was at that show too! Actually I saw all three shows at the Joe in 86. I took my camera to two of the shows and got some pics.

I did talk to a guy that went to all three when I was there. that was before the days that I did that (only 16) but since then did a few back to back shows

....front row for a few. I'd love to see the pics. I have pics from alot of my shows.but there not downloaded on the comp.Hey do I remember right als drums came out of the floor at the beginning didnt they? I havent seen them do it on lwan or anything so I thought maby I was just nuts
