The 10 Best modern albums from your favourite 70's and 80's artists.

Okay guys, this is kind've inspired by the 20 greatest hard rock albums thread. Any album released since, say, 1990, by a band that ruled the 70's or 80's. Commerical appeal is obviously meaningless, talk about your favourite albums since the bands heyday.

    Cheap Trick- Cheap Trick (1997)
    Aerosmith- Nine Lives
    Motley Crue- Generation Swine
Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest)- Baptism of Fire
    Sammy Hagar- Ten 13
    Van Halen- Balance
    Kiss- Revenge
    Alice Cooper- Brutal Planet
    Coverdale/Page
    Megadeth- Cryptic Writings

U2 - all of 'em, really, but so that I can limit to one (or "One"), I'll go with Achtung Baby
    Aerosmith - Nine Lives
    Cheap Trick's self-titled album from 1997
    ZZ Top - Antenna
    Rolling Stones - abiggerbang
    Billy Idol - Devil's Playground

Most everyone else I can think of only had one (studio) album since 1990 (i.e. Pink Floyd) so it's kind of hard to pick a favourite when there's only one to choose from, or they haven't put out anything worthy of being called a favourite (i.e. KISS - Psycho Circus)

    In no particular order:

    Van Halen - Balance (1995)
Motley Crue - Generation Swine (1997)
    Genesis - We Can't Dance (1992)
    U2 - Achtung Baby (1991)
Journey - Trial By Fire (1996)
    Cheap Trick - Rockford (2006)
    Aerosmith - Nine Lives (1997)
    Queen - Innuendo (1991)
Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life and Death (2006)
    Rush - Vapor Trails (2002)
In and out. I didn't even make that pun on purpose.

I'll add Erase the Slate by Dokken as well. A hell of a sophisticated release for them.

“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

David Lee Roth, Edward Van Halen, Michael Anthony, Alex Van Halen, Sammy Hagar.
