hain, is there a page 2 for that article? I honestly could not get it to scroll past:

Van Halen

It’s hard to keep up with this '80s heavy metal supergroup, because Van Halen's backstage theatrics are almost as intriguing as their on-stage lunacy. But one thing is clear: The real Van Halen consists of Eddie Van Halen on guitar, Alex Van Halen on drums, Michael Anthony on bass and David Lee Roth on vocals. The Sammy Hagar edition was just an aberration of rock history and not a particularly memorable one. The relationship between Roth and the other bandmates is key. They got together a couple of times since splitting in 1985 to record songs for a greatest hits anthology. But old tensions flared anew and hopes for a reunion tour were scrapped. In the meantime, Eddie welcomed his son Wolfgang into the band, replacing Anthony on bass, so if a Van Halen reunion did occur, it wouldn’t be the exact same original lineup. However, there is sentiment for another get-together, and it is likely Anthony could be a part of it somehow, especially when the band is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12. Like lovers who can't get along but keep pining for each other, the band's members keep suggesting in various interviews that a reunion will happen. Roth went so far as to call it "inevitable." But we're still waiting.

This is soooo dumb. Using simple logic, there is only one answer: The Talking Heads.

The Supremes did reunite (sorta) in 2001. Flo Ballard wasn't there because Diana Ross is a megalomaniac. The tour stiffed (deservedly) because of financial miscalculation (greed) on the part of Miss Ross, demanding guarantees that were unattainable, assuring the thing would lose money from the start.

Sly Stone has as much chance of getting the band back together and coming up with new music as I do in reasembling either of my marriages.

The Police apparently are in action as we speak, Christ knows what VH is truly doing, so that leaves the only viable solution: Talking Heads.

Yes, the last couple of albums sucked. Yet there is no denying the strength of "Remain In Light", one of the most remarkable albums ever recorded (check out the remastered version, this thing is simply sonically overwhelming).

I'd love to see and hear a tour with the expanded band from "Stop Making Sense".

Dude, reality. The Police will own any incarnation of VH, tour-wise, much less with Ed's kid on bass.

Heck, even if Mike was joining Dave, Ed, and Al, unless they put out a new album and toured the material, I'd still hit the Police over Van Halen. It will never be 1983 again.

But I'm biased, maybe.
