You know what, I honestly feel that this will all turn out great. It's a big deal and everyone involved knows it. Backstage will be strained im sure but I don't think we will know anything about it.

Hopefully everyone can take the same attitude that Sammy has about the whole thing. He seems to have much respect for Dave and Ed and he's supplying Cabo for the show...

I know Sammy was on the Kidd Chris show here in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. (Today, 1/09). I didnt get to hear it though.

Absolutely! At least Sammy has pretty made it pretty clear about what he would like to see happen.

Hope that someone gets a few words out of the Van Halen boys to see what their stand on the whole situation is.

I hope there are a lot of interviews between now and the ceremony, but I get the feeling Sam's the only one talking.

The whole VH soap opera is tough to take on so many levels, but this is a fascinating situation.

I can't wait to see what happens.

That was a good read, Sammy took the high road and hopefully the others will follow. I'm sure that it bothers him that in every story that's come out since yesterday, the soap opera, bad blood angle has almost taken center stage. Do these guys want to be remembered for great music or B.S.?

Incidentally, I was surprised to hear him say the biggest problem was between Ed and Dave. I always thought scuttlebutt had it that Al hated him most and a few years ago Mike went on record as saying he probably had the biggest beef with Dave. Compared to Dave and Mike, and Dave and Al, I thought Ed and Dave got on ok. Maybe not.

I'm not so sure he's seen the Dave some of us has seen since the S & D Tour, better yet, since the radio gig. Since the radio thing, he seems to have been SUBSTANTIALLY "grounded", matured, whatever. I've always dug this band, and forgive my Yogi Berra numbers, but if I had to to "choose sides", Id say "90% percent Dave-era and the other half (no pun) I liked Sam-era". So I'm not a "graver", and I think Sam did a hell of a lot of great things with Van Halen. I also honestly believe that MTV thing on the Sam & Dave tour that's available on Youtube was predominantly "staged", and these guys were at least "somewhat" civil. The jamming with Mike denial with Roth was prolly either Dave's comfort level with his band (which would also explain jamming with Sam or anybody else) or Mike's loyalty to Sam. Who knows; to quote Diedrich Bader in Office Space, "I don't know man, I'm just talkin out of my ass", LMAO...... Any-who, to see all 5 of these guys jam, ONE TIME (besides "one last time") would be CAKE. If it turns into 3/4 CVH after that, ok. Resigned to it. Just don't fail us, let it happen for the masses that made this happen, Ed!!!!

I hope when after his set is done @ the induction (if it even goes down that way) he sets down the mic, waves in appreciation, and walks out the door never to speak to Edward Van Halen again. Maybe Mikey will follow.
