.....whether or not the date is 3/16 or that they released 1984 exactly "X" number of years ago to the day or whatever other events happened to occur on a particular day? Do you honestly believe that Ed is sitting in his studio saying, "No, Dave, we can't release it until March 16 because that is 3/16 and that would be really cool". HELL NO!! Or maybe Ed is thinking, "Let's hurry it up so it will be released on the anniversary of Mike's second hemorrhoid!!" HELL NO!!! They don't give 2 shits about what event happened when. It really is funny to me how some people think that Ed actually gives a shit about certain numbers or dates that happened to have been significant in the past. He'll release it when its done. I don't know when. I don't mind hearing rumors about when it could be releases, hell, they fire me up sometimes. Just don't tell me it'll be on 3/16 because that is 316 and it would kick ass. Please. Now that I have said that, it will probably be released on 3/16.

You know...it's funny. I fallen prey to these dates in the past. I really don't think that the band would do something like this, but you never know. What this band is, is full of irony (and sometimes shit), so you never really know what the fuck they are going to do. I think at this stage in the game, the last think that they are going to do is use a VH historical date. Like they don't have enough to worry about. Of course, saying that now, you're probably right. 316...here we go. It's funny, we were looking for an album last March 16th. Christ...to long...to damn long.

I'm sure these numbers mean very little to them in relation to possible release dates. But as fans, it's cool to use these dates as reference points.

bands strategicly (sp??) release albums. they call around and know when someone else's album is coming out.

but there are soo many acts out there right now that it's going to be hard to find a time when "it's right" to put an album out.

bottom line--you have to put the album out against someone else.. it's just a matter of deciding if they want to go up against Aerosmith or Nsync

Well, if they do go by a significant number, it better fall on a Tuesday in the ol' USA, as far as I know that is when albums are released - don't know if there are ever exceptions, but 3/16/01 does not fall on a Tuesday.

Why is anyone even talking about 316. That's got nothing to do with Dave. If they do release it on some "significant" date it will be a date concerning the old Van Halen. I think the 1984 release date would be the coolest date to release it. But I think realistically they will just release it when they are good and ready. I just wish it will be soon!! Could the anniversary of Gary's dismissal be the date for the single release???
