Default Need new music before tour!!!!

I'm a VH fan through and through, been with them since 86. I've hung out for every album, waited for tour announcements, the whole lot, but this year, it dont bother me!!!!
OK!!! They might come out and blow us all away and give us a big surprise, but if that happens, thats what it will be.
Honestly, I cant see it working. I'd rather just listen to my Sammy CDs and hope that he tours Australia than waitin for anything Eddie wants to do next.
I got the "Sacred sin" 2 disc set on dvd, took it home and theres only one disc in there and no special features, even a porn movie is short changed.
Everythings half arsed with Eddie in the last 10 years. Sammy gives 100 percent, he even takes out a old buddy to keep the dream alive on tour and give us what we want.
Van Halen 2007 is gonna have a 15 year old kid stealing the limelight to get all the rock worlds attention. Its just a gimmik to get VH attention again.
New fans will buy it, especially young kids. They'll look up to Wolfie like hes a god....
If they tour Oz, sure I'll see em, but I'm not hanging my tongue out for a ticket if it happens.
Anyway, they should bring out new music before a tour.
What is understood need not be discussed

Be nice, Lode. He's just returned here after a couple years away. He's not alone in his feelings, tho they have been stated elsewhere. A couple times.

    Everyone just breathe...

Yep!!! Promotion will have to be big. Theres no hint of a ep even, that would of been a good idea. A full album could be done after the tour but a sample of it before could give us a clue where the bands leading or how its gonna end.

considering everything Ed's put out there since BOV1 has gotten torn apart by fans and media it's doubtful he'll ever have the incentive to release new material. Plus I don't think anyone can work with the guy anymore. Sam said he got in and out of the studio in 2 hours cause he knew him and Ed would go at it if they crossed paths, what does that tell ya? It might've been hunky dory for a couple of weeks but it fell apart and that's what's gonna keep on happening as long as they "have' to record at 5150 and Ed insists on being more than what he is. Sit down, play you're f'n guitar and let al play his drums, you're bass player play his bass and your singer sing. Anything more than that and you've got a mess.

Yes, and this comes from musician(s), who were always very outspoken on the fact that '(we) won't put our name on something that isn't worthy.'

People can point to Kiss all-day-long, as Kiss is notorious in making money off it's fans, by the sale of crap. But there's a certain honesty with Kiss, as they've always been upfront about what they are. Kiss is what it is. The band knows it. The fans know it. And everyone's cool with it.

People can argue all day long about III, but few will disagree that III wasn't an honest effort. Yet, every effort after III, reeks of greed.

It's really sad actually. For in the history of rock, relatively few have shown the talent of Ed Van Halen. A few notable guitarists, like Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhodes, have had their efforts end by happenstance. For had they remained alive, who knows what they would've produced. Therefore, in its own way, happenstance short-changed those guitarists from even greater achievement - thus, through fate, their legacies were affected.

It's one thing for happenstance to affect an artist's legacy - sad indeed. But it's absolutely tragic, when a talent like Ed Van Halen, sabotages his own efforts; thus legacy.

very accurate points!! ed has lost touch with reality completely. and sadly doesnt realize who his friends, business partners, and most importantly family is as well. when all members past and present have the same remarks about eddie it usually is clear sign whos at fault here.get out of 5150 and make an album like the old days.have fun with your band and fans!!thats what its all about.not just getting wasted out of your mind 24-7.

Jimi just happened to end up with a needle in his arm? I'd also view that as someone sabotaging their own efforts.

Yeah, you're very right in the literal sense. But, while not removing responsibility from Jimi for his death, and although I don't know for sure, I don't think he went out that day (or night), thinking that he was going to kill himself.

Yet IMHO, Van Halen, as a band, enjoying a position that most artists could only dream of, has thrown so much potential away, over the past eight years. For, throughout much of their history, as a band, Van Halen prided themselves on their musicianship, and being true to their craft. Yet, I just don't see that
from them, over the last eight years. It's a tragedy, considering the talent, from each of its' members...

I can remember the days when the band turned out an album every 2-3 years. Sadly, the days of opening a new Van Halen album, or listening to a just released 45 single, are long gone...

Hmmph. Pretty bad mix anyway if you ask me. Pills & Booze is never a good way to end the party! Then again if you ask me, I'll tell you I never liked his "noise" anyway 'cept his slow blues moments. But these fuckin' innovators... So deep inside their own heads they can't realize their purpose.
