There will be no reunion with Dave, Sammy, Gary, or any of Eddie's "soulmates." Eddie does not want to rock anymore. We now know that Dave did work with him some last year and for reasons unknown to us, it didn't work out. Money was probably an issue; Eddie probably didn't want to give him an equal share, or wouldn't agree to a contract with him. Remember when he said in the golf magazine that everything was going fine with Dave until the lawyers got involved? And when he said that he remembered when they used to conduct business with a handskake? What a joke. Dave got burnt in '96 from Eddie on what was probably a handshake, he ain't going to let that happen to him again. My guess is that Dave wanted back into the band, he brought a lawyer along, and Eddie wouldn't agree with it, so he said adios to Eddie and split. I don't think that Eddie will give an inch on this either 'cause I think he likes the retirement life anyway, which is fine if that is what he wants to do. What isn't fine though is to keep stringing the fans along. Once again, he has proven that he could care less about the fans.

Ouch...
You shouldn't assume that it's all Eddie's fault. None of us were there in 96 nor last summer.
It's been a while, but I bet they still come back rocking harder than ever.
I don't buy that Eddie doesn't care about his fans....I *do* think he should at least care more about himself than us.
If Dave doesn't work out, Dave doesn't work out. So what....move on. It would be much uglier for those guys to go on tour hating each other.

Okay, now the rant.

I am getting absolutely sick of people saying that "Van Halen is finished", "its over" and "Eddie doesn't want to rock anymore".

Rock and Roll like it or not is Eddie's life and is what drives him, he might not rock as hard as he used when he was in his 20's as alot of people that keep living in the past would like him to, but like you & I, he has grown-up and we all just (at least most of us here) grew up with him and his music.
Many here seem to refuse to accept the fact that we ARE getting older and simply hold on to our past VH memories of the first time we put on Van Halen 1 and heard "Eruption" and fell in love with Van Halen the BAND.

Eddie has alot more rock left in him and has been dealt some very personal issues such as health and band issues but he is poised to once again make some very damn good music and play it for us live in concert.

And if you expect Van Halen to destroy the current bands out there.
Forget it.
Van Halen will though, make everyone remember just who influnced alot of these current bands and helped pave the road for todays rock music.

So whether it be as current rumor has it, Sammy singing once again, or possibly Dave, (or both), or even a 4th singer (which I doubt), Van Halen will and forever will be VAN HALEN.

I haven't logged onto this site in over a month and you guys are still bantering on the same old bullshit...All the Eddie fans still standing behind him - like he owes any of us anything....Face it - It's over.. And I don't give a shit anymore.. Life is too short to be checking VH forums every damn day to see if there's any news. Ed's through - whether he wants to admit it or not. Noone gives a shit anymore and I think he knows that too. A new VH album whether with Sammy or Dave would fail to sell multi-platinum. NOONE GIVES A SHIT ANYMORE. As usual, these fucking guys have done the worst thing they could do from a PR standpoint...They let people get excited about another Roth reunion and then they waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited UNTIL NOONE GIVES A SHIT ANYMORE. And Dave made it worse by going out on this fucking lame ass tour of his and showing America how fucking dried up, old and boring he is...It's like going and seeing Twisted Sister in concert with full make up and hair...It's a fucking joke. Dave still wants to be 1984 Dave...Where's fuckin Martha Quinn? I want my MTV....Bullshit - he's just an over-the-hill, refusing to grow up, stuck in the 80's, loudmouth with a receeding hairline and a failing voice. Fuck all of em...They missed their timing...NOONE GIVES A SHIT ANYMORE except a dozen people who visit this site daily praying that some new rumor may pop up that gives them strength to go on with life for another week.
