The EVH I remember was a bit more bright eyed, and wasn't constantly giving the finger to his fans! Up til now I haven't much commented/cared about ed's appearance(s) -
even the faux-Gene Simmons kabuki doo of early '04. But after seeing the
Halfin pics it's finally like, "ok. we get it. you're rock n roll Tarzan or Ted

Mid-life crisis, every dude goes through one. Most guys buy a sports car or a pair of assless chaps. For most of us, it's dealing with the fact that we didn't make enough money to retire at 30, bang a Playmate of the Year, become an astronaut, QB our favorite NFL team to five back-to-back Super Bowls and become Eddie Van Halen.

I think Eddies problem is that he's still trying to be Eddie Van Halen without actually doing what it takes to be Eddie Van Halen.
