anyone remember the gibson MIII?

just trying to dig up some info on one of my guitars.
i picked it up in around 91-92 at a local music store in england.
its a gibson MIII (m3). from what i understand they didnt make them for very long and they didnt sell well, personaly i think its a great guitar (exept the body shape and weight) its got a ton of pup variations and stays intune no matter how abusive of the wammy i get.
the only mods i've done so far are:all new pots/switches and all rewired from scratch (usual gibson problems with cheap crappy parts) and a full re-fret (again due to gibson installing crap/cheap frets)

from what i understand its also a rare item due to the colour (metallic blue with all gold hardware) any info would be cool. or if anyone else has/had one give me a shout and lemme know what you thought of it

quick update:

after some web searching some things have struck me about my guitar:
according to most people the mIII had a maple neck, mine is rosewood and ive not seen another one with a rosewood neck also it says the trem is a schaller mine is an original floyd!!

now i know these things were not changed by anyone coz i bought the guitar new i have contacted gibson several times with the serial number and all the details above but cant seem to get anything out of them, its just got me thinking do i have a rare item on my hands?
