Things are still moving along in the Van Halen re-union game, but as expected, a few bumps along the way. The 2007 tour is still in planning and come Monday next week (USA time) we should know if the band are going to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame. David Lee Roth was cornered last week by celeb website TMZ for a comment. His reply: "A Van Halen reunion is a lot like Nascar -- are you there to see the winner or the crash?.....In this aspect, we're a lot closer to Jerry Springer meets Knots Landing, which, to me, sells T-shirts."

Why do websites like melodicrock.com and others insist on calling this a RE-UNION?

In all likelihood when Dave is finally confirmed to be joining Ed,Alex and Wolfgang later this year, it will be the next incarnation of Van Halen NOT a reunion! The only reunion in the band is between Dave, Ed and Alex!

A Classic Van Halen reunion is simply Dave, Ed, Alex and Mike!

Well, it's a reunion with Dave, is it not?

I agree about Mike though....he needs to be there, but sadly won't be.

Sorry I haven't got anything else to add - well, perhaps I do. It seems Azoff might step back from managing the band now, but is still very much involved in the tour set up. They might officially be dubbed the tour promoter.

Everything else is still in the works, but I am yet to hear of any possible new material.

WHoever it is u get ur info from, i assume they know how bad fans want new material and im sure Ed is aware as well..unless everyone is afraid to say something to him..but what, if anything, hav u heard regarding ed and why there is no new music as of yet?

Like I said, I agree it's a reunion between Dave, Ed and Alex. It stops there though, and if anyone thinks otherwise in terms of a Van Halen reunion without Mike, are kidding themselves.

It's not a Van Halen reunion as a band and that is really what most of us want and the wrong message you wrote saying it's the "Van Halen re-union game"!

That was my point.

I plan on going if DLR is the man. I would love to see the original 4, but who is to say the hold up wasn't/isn't MA. We do not know what the feelings & attitudes behind the scenes are and maybe he just doesn't want to do it. I just want a new album.

Although i think it sucks about the mike situation I will be there to see them live with Dave I dont pretend to be so privvy to the life of the band so I
guess Im not gonna cast judgement on something i basically dont know shit about.
