We're back in Houston now recovering from a really great weekend!!! I've heard that I've been dubbed the writer for the Texmas Linkers' Weekend chronicles. I don't deserve this honor as LL is truly the creative writer amongst us. However, there are several "blurry spots" for him from the weekend so I'm going to fill in the gaps. I've got to put all my thoughts together and e-mail a ton of pics to TP, so it may take me a day or two to get to writing. Here are a couple of pictures for everyone to ponder on until I can get the rest up.

This wasn't TLWII, but it WAS the NEXT BEST THING!!!!!!!!

(by the way...there ARE some great and monumental pics---they need explaining, though, so they'll come later)

I have had a great time so far down here and am hating the idea of going home tomorrow night! It was great to see all my good friends down here in Texas... I can't wait for TLWIII!!!

Anyways, need to rest for a few...

hey Mikey---we got your msg. when we got home today. you called the house phone. we tried to call you last night but started losing reception on our cell phone out in the "sticks". hope you had a great new year's!

Thanks so much! The dinner wouldn't have been half as good without the killer ass garlic mashed taters that Kristi whipped up!!!

BTW, I wonder if they'll let me bring the apron back to Oly???

I feel very proud to be considered an Honorary Texan!!!

I'm glad I did the BBQing World proud...

I just can't wait for the homemade ice cream tomorrow before I have to unwillingly make my way back home...

Saturday, Dec. 30th

We all (KT, van_5150_halen, Filthy150, Rock Candy21, TP, fast98dodge, and LLFHS) met at the Omni Hotel in south Austin mid-afternoon when we all got into town. The party quickly started at the Omni Bar for a few drinks before heading over to LL's mom's house.

About 4:00 we headed over to Mama Scum's house for a pre-party before heading out to 6th St. later that night. LL's mom and her husband treated us to all-you-could-eat boiled shrimp and all-we-could-drink ice-cold beer, wine, and shots of Cabo. They were such nice people and the greatest hosts. We were all very honored to be welcomed into their home (although the girls were a little embarassed when we learned that SCUM HAD SHOWN HIS MOM THE WHIPPED CREAM PICS...

).

We gave LL his birthday gift (the Rush DVD box set and a copy of Stephen Lynch's "Live at the El Rey"). To our surprise, he had gifts for all of US! He brought each of us an engraved K-SCuM dog tag with our Linker name on one side and the K-SCuM logo on the other. Too cool!
