Oh my! Hangover remedies?
Went to our big city party and then to the bar last night. First time since we started having kids that my wife and I both got PLOWED. Don't intend to do that again for a while...if ever again (insert I'll never do that again joke here)
Anyhow I would imagine that there will be plenty of folks having a few too many tonight and I was wondering if there were any tried and true hangover remedies out there. There are no silver bullets, but Steph was sure begging for one this morning lol. Hey ya gotta sink low to hit the highs ya know.
Share 'em if you got 'em.
We are having about 30 of our closest friends over tonight and about 30 of their kids and it will be a blast, games, cards, movies and such, but I don't know if either of us will be able to stand the smell of alcohol lol."Knowing is not enough, we must apply, willing is not enough, we must do" -Goethe
Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open.--Sir James Dewar, Scientist (1877-1925)

--Will Rogers
It is amazing how much some people can do with so little, however, what is even more amazing to me is how little some people can do with so much.

I'm lucky, I never have hangovers, EVER!! 2 months ago I ghosted like 3 pints of cider, almost totally blacked out for a certain period of time but sobered up within 2-3 hours and was totally fresh the next morning - even made it at work with no side effects!
That's your advantage of weighting 90lbs

Not necessarily a hangover remedy, but more of a "hangover preventative":
Vitamin B12 supplements (or any B-complex vitamin) taken about an hour or so before you decide to loosen up and tie one on really tight.
Any CVS/Walgreens/Walmart $5 bottle will work...no need for those $3 a dose "Chaser" pills.
Outside of the normal water rehydration the next day, this is all you'll need to keep the brutal head-splitting headaches and overall sluggishness away.
...only problem with the B12 is it usually allows you to drink MORE before feeling the normal effects of alcohol, also.

In the morning, have a Bloody Caesar
If not, drink a veritable shit-load of Gatorade (a vodka spike will help)

Preparation is always good--lots of water before drinking, absorbing foods like breads and pastas, vitamins, and aspirin ahead of time.
After the fact...
LOTS of water, greasy food, vitamins (B-12 was suggested earlier), aspirin or ibuprofen, CAFFEINE, some stretching and very simple exercises.

Pace yourself, try to drink orange juice every third drink, also water with lime.
A Banana or two before you go to bed will help replace the potassium and take the edge off.
Also, try to drink the good stuff, quality Vodka and Tequilla won't give you a hangover. The more expensive the brand, the more pure the mix, both should be clear. I think there's a Van Halen-related Tequilla product that fit's this bill, but it's expensive.
Warning: Tequilla is evil, it's the Mexican revenge on the white man. It's not that you get drunk, you get STUPID DRUNK. Stories that start out "I woke up, naked, with no eyebrows, and I was in jail..." are always Tequilla related. You know those werewolf movies where the hero/werewolf beggs his girlfriend to chain him up before the moonrise, that's probably a smart idea."Nothing is ever what it seems but everything is exactly what it is." - B. Banzai

fight fire with fire. keep drinking until the hangover is gone.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

Dehydration is a big component of a hangover. Beer is a liquid. Not a huge mystery there.
Axx also raises a valid point about quality. The fewer impurities in your body, the less likely you are to get sick. Though all the same, I'll be skipping the vodka out of experience and the Cabo Wabo out of principle.
Sticking with good ol' Snow Cap Ale tonight! Happy new beer all!!

The morning after, about a hour before you have to get up, get up and take 2 excedrin extra strength with a large glass of water. Go back to bed. When you wake up, you shouldn't have any headache, start drinking as much water as your kidneys can handle so you can get re-hydrated.

Actually a brew the next day can really help cure the headache and shakes. I usually pop a couple of ibuprofens before I pass out and drink a shitload of water. Broth helps with the tummy troubles, if any. At least for me. And I have to be thinking about doing this stuff instead of wondering what I'm gonna watch or listen to before I pass out.
Haven't had a hangover in a while, at least not the bad kind. Mild hangovers aren't too bad tho.RIP - Classic Van Halen

To help prevent it, drink water every 2nd or 3rd.
If you're already there, drink water.
If you're reading this, you ain't as thought as you drunk you are. Grab some hair o' the dog that bit 'ya & get back at it!!!
