I thought the song sounded good when i seen them.(july 04)

Maybe because the song was in heavy rotation on the local stations for a couple of months before the concert.

It got a good response from the crowd.

That is just an OK song.... I don't think they ever got their groove back. Just a bad guitar song alltogether.

Funny, I've always thought the same thing. Some cool riffs but I think the flow is choppy....the timing just seems to be awkward at times.

That's where the production and mix were lacking. The energy was pretty amazing, and the actual guitar part is truly awesome. The pre-chorus needed something to carry it a little more, and the drum mix just didn't help carry the groove.

Did anyone see the "promo" videos from UFB that this guy has up too? There is interview audio before each of those two songs. The helicopter is missing from the beginning of UFB I noticed.

I found the original commercial for "Best Of Both Worlds". I remember seeing footage from IAT that was pro shot. The footage from this "promo" video is not the same as the one that was in the "offical" commercial. I would like to know what shows these videos were bootlegged from because that is some good footage IMO.

While I was looking around for the commercial for "Best Of Both Worlds" I came across these.

The "helicopter" at the beginning of "Up For Breakfast" was in fact the synth bass, which is present throughout the entire song. When I first heard it, the uncanny similarity between it and both "Fire In The Hole" and "Why Can't This Be Love" seemed obvious right away. With that said, I pose this question: Why can't this've been Michael Anthony?

IAT still kicks my ass....love it.

While it won't go down in history as one of Ed's best licks, the fuckin' opening riff tore we a new asshole the first time I heard it....I love the choppiness of the tune, it's just so different than anything they have released..

I always had issues with the solo sound like it was a compilation of stuff, cut together for one solo, but after hearing it as a full wav. file, it didn't sound nearly as chopped up as the first mp3 I heard.....as a matter of fact, the solo kind of fits the pacing of the whole tune.

    Lyrics...whatever, it's Sam....

Production wise, I think its pretty sharp. Ed's guitar takes up a lot of sonic real estate, yet Sam's vocals are still on top.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Looks like bootleg footage synced up to the studio version of the song.

Its About Time, along with the other two songs, just sounded like a bunch of riffs and song ideas jammed together. In my opinion, I thought Up For Breakfast flowed the best musically. Sammy's lyrics were bad on all three. They should have offered instrumental versions as B-sides.

Eddie probably had been noodling around with those tunes long before Sammy and Mike were involved. I would imagine that's why Eddie had the keyboard baseline in Up For Breakfast. I always wondered what Mike thought of that song when he heard it. He was probably thinking, "What am I supposed to do?" Hilarious.

I had the same reaction to IAT--MP3 version to the CD version. I think we got a "test master" of the the MP3 when it first started getting passed around, and the BOBW mastered version was better.
