atomic punks and van halen

is it coincidence that they have no shows scheduled after the end of january?

if halen does get back together, would they even bother playing?

wonder if ed would somehow try to put a stop to that if the original lineup does reconvene?

thoughts?

If the Atomic Punks were/are a threat to VH's success, I'd say that's a pretty good sign VH would need to hang it up.

They are always slow putting up new dates, especially after the new year. However, Joe, Lance, and Scott have a side project called 5150...coincidence? LOL

on a side note, i saw unchained last weekend and was blown away...good stuff.

i saw metal skool and after an hour i was bored with the gay schtick they do

it's waaay to beavis and butthead

i wish they'd just play

but hey if ralph would rather do that than classic van halen, oh well

The first couple years of metal skool, well Shop then, were awesome...the Key Club show is definitely hurting as of late. But cheese is what makes it so trendy in Hollyweird. From my understanding Warrant will be closing their tour by opening for Metal Skool sometime in 07. You just know what Metal Skool is gonna open with, along with Ralph going, "Hey, didn't these guys just open for us?" Or him asking where jani lane is. On a funny side, my friend broke Jani Lane's Saab on a beer run. Too funny, when my buddy called all Jani wanted to know whether he had gotten the beer or not.

The Metal skool shows in San diego are really good. I mean you have scantily clad college slores dancing about to Night Train. And Unchained was fairly comparable to the Punks. The lead singer and guitarist were great. They had some old fat guy playing the part of Wolfie though. Weird. LOL We also saw Get your Guns and Slippery When Wet the Same night. For 13 bucks it was an awesome time.

Being a guitar player in a VH tribute band myself (quick plug: www.vhtributeband.com playing tonight at the Hollywood House of Blues on Sunset) I've had the pleasure of playing with both Ralph of AP (in the studio) and Ricky of Unchained (live) and they're both incredibly talented vocalist. Each has the uncanny ability to transform themselves into Diamond Dave. I give Ralph the edge on his look and I give Ricky the edge on his vocals (sounds more like Dave).

Both are truly amazing!

We've played with this band and they are very good! I believe this "Sammy" plays with OU812 and 5150 (the AP guys).
