Default Why did Dave stop working with Ted Templeman

I was listening to a couple of songs from skyscraper today and wondered why Dave parted ways with Templeman after EEAS. I've never heard the story...I'm assuming Dave wanted to do a more "experimental" record and Ted wanted to say with the "big rock" sound of EEAS but it's only an assumption on my part.

i don't remember if there was a story behind it. could have been something as simple as scheduling.

why does it seem that everything VH related that the guys decide to self produce sounds like garbage....skyscraper, 5150, OU812, III. Interesting to note that production wise I never said goodbye is pretty good and that was done by Sam and Ed. Sam's 10/13 is pretty good too and that's Lauser and Hagar....

Maybe Ted parted ways with Dave, and after listening to a lot of the synth cheese on Skyscraper, I wouldn't blame him

Oh come on, wouldn't any good producer salivate over "Hotdog and a Shake" or "Stand Up"?
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

Well, he continued to work with Van Halen after that. Maybe he went into a semi-retirement? I believe his work with Van Halen was vocals only.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

Belikemike, didn't Templeman produce FUCK? That was 2/3 years after Sky. So that would dismiss the retirement theory. I could be wrong, but there is always politics with this stuff.

he also co-produced a band with ed in 92, I think....I think the band was called "private life" or something. I've got the tape somewhere.

I've got the first one in my hand as we "speak" it was released in 1990, produced by Ed and Ted and yes, Touch Me is the first song on the tape.

I thought Andy Johns produced FUCK and that Ted was just brought in at the end to see if he could add anything.
