What would you prefere?
1.- A CVH tour with Mike and an Eddie not inspired kind of 2004 (playing for himself, and sometimes not the song as it is).
2.- A semi CVH tour with Wolfie and an Eddie INSPIRED kind of 1998 (playing his ass off on every song).
My vote is defenetly No. 2"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone
"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth
WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

I love how now the running theory is that Ed's playing in 2004 was uninspired and uneven because he was sabotaging the Van Hagar setlist because he just couldn't stand the material, Sammy, or Mike anymore.
Couldn't have had ANYTHING to do with the rampant boozing, nope.

The band is all about Eddie. The music Eddie made during the first VH era stands alone.

yeah and Sam was the reason Ed made an ass out of himself at NAMM few years ago and the reason Ed got a divorce...blah, blah fucking blah.
Sam doesn't make ed drink, ed drinks cause ed's a drunk, always has been always will be. Ed used to be a fun drunk that could play his ass off when he was bombed now he's just a nasty fuck who can't really pull it off when he's wasted anymore.

It's amazing how on this FORUM anyone can ASK a simple question, and instead of recieving a simpe awnser, they recieve a different thread about it.
"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone
"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and I´ve got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

alright then...sorry didn't mean to jump into your shit. I "think" ed was drinking prior to it all falling apart anyway.
To answer the poll, if Ed was sober and could play like he did in 98 then that would probably be ideal but realistically do you guys really think he's gonna be sober for this tour? Do you really think he's gonna be getting along with Dave at the end?
I'm glad if it happens cause some people have been waiting to see Dave and Ed on stage for years so it will finally give them what they want but overall nothing good for the band "van halen" can come out of what has and what will transpire with regards to this reunion.

#1, with an inspired Ed as a bonus. Get the original band back together, do a tour with the old tunes for old times' sake (and for the fans' sake) and then call it a day. After that, do whatever in the hell you want to.
