What's going to sell VH tickets?

If there isn't going to be any new music, will it be that DLR is back or that EVH's 15 year old son is playing bass?

I have a feeling that even if Wolfgang is a less-than competent bass player, he's going to get major amounts of attention from the media.

I don't know how much Dave has matured over the years, but a kid stealing some (or most) of his thunder is bound to rub DLR the wrong way.

Does anyone else see this ending badly??

it always has in the past.

With Michael there, I figured this would end badly. Adding Wolfie just increases the odds of it ending badly.

Honestly Dave and Eddie are the ones who are the draw when it comes to ticket sales with or without new music.
I Think Wolfie will be primarily just standing next to the drum riser and feed off of Alex. The kid won't be in the spotlight very much, especially if they bring in some background vocalists like a couple hot chicks or something.
Maybe they wil hire a keyboardist to play Jump and I'll Wait and he/she will also sing background.

This tour will feature Dave and Eddie IMO, I'd be more worried about one of their egos hurting each other.
But Unlike in 2004, I think that this is a tour that Eddie WANTS to do.

    Well said!!!

The combo of Eddie and Dave will surely draw attention. Plus, the fact that the last tour ended badly will make the media pay attention.

    Dave.

Dave being on stage with Ed and Al again.

There will be some interest in Wolfgang, but the meal ticket is Dave reuniting with Eddie and Alex.

Default Eddie/Wolfie/Alex vs DLR on tour

You really believe that having Wolfie on tour with Eddie will allow DLR to work well with 3 Van Halen family members? Eddie will flip if he believes that DLR isn't doing right by his son during any part of the show or tour.
When you had Michael and DLR/Sammy, at least it was even. Now it's 3 against 1.

Also it will still come down to promoters and what they are willing to pay for a "reunion" without the original members. It is like watching and waiting for a crash to occur.

Maybe there are some female cousins that can play keyboards and sing background. Who knows, maybe Van Halen will be the next "Dreamgirls" type paly and movie.

I doubt a 15 year old has much to say with regards to the business of VH.

    So, I don't see the '3 against 1' scenario.

Here's the problem. People are saying the average fan won't even know Mikey is missing. So, what you're gonna hear is YRGM, Jump, DTNA, Unchained, etc. because if your average guy is so VH-stupid that he dosen't know or care that the real bass player is gone, then no way they break out with Sinner's Swing, Dirty Movies, MWM, HOP or anything else VH-Stupid Guy may not have ever heard. They're gonna play to that average Joe. I can do without singing RWTD to myself live ever again.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
