    Default Installing a Floyd

    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience installing a Floyd rose by themselves, more specifically on one of the OLP MM1 guitars. Is it easy to do, and how does the guitar tolerate it ? Do I have to cut any holes on the body, or should it fit on it's own ?

you will have to drill atleast 2 holes for the posts and as long as you get them perfectly in line and not angled toward or away from the neck its easy enough have a look around the web theres plenty of sites that offer help on these subjects

give this site a try i quite often use it as reference and its never pointed me wrong. but at the end of the day if u feel you are not up to the job take it to a luthier or someone who CAN do it properly

It sounds like a dangerous venture. If the Floyd is installed off the mark in even the slightest way the strings won't intonate properly. Also, how and where would you install the locking nut?

OLP makes a version of the MM1 with a Floyd.

I am not sure where i'd place it, I have never owned a floyd rose and I have zero experience with them. I have heard that the OLP MM1 floyds were utter shit.
