Nothing like starting ANOTHER thread in Albums and Videos, huh Wolfie?

Search is your friend. Several threads already on this, somewhere.

What about the best Van Halen album? That's a tough one, six great albums, but one hard decision.

OU812 is my favorite, 5150 and For Unlawful are a close second though.

it doesn't get any better than FUCK to me but I love 5150 and OU812 also. Balance to me is just a very dark album, not just musically but everything about the way the album was presented to the public, the stories I hear about them making it..everything screams "dark". Musically I think it's got some incredible parts to it but it just seems so rushed to me, take some stuff off of there that just doesn't sound right by my ears and throw some different stuff on it and you've got one of the greatest cd's of all time.

Fuck has everything you can want from a VH album. Incredible production, Al, ed, mike and sam are all on fire for the ENTIRE album, it's f'n rockin from start to finish, great songwriting...I wish they woulda stuck with Andy Johns for the follow up...

OK, in response to the original idea, without a doubt its Balance

I usually sway with Balance because it's my personal preference. However, 5150 needs a mention in these types of polls because it's a milestone in VH's catalogue with brilliant songs and a great vibe of the time.

    Still, I'll say Balance.
Bobby Cohn: Who's going to be at Waynestock?
Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

Fuck gets top spot for me for songs like Top of the world, poundcake, right now, pleasuredome, 316, and spanked.

But balance has some better songwriting on it. Feelin is a master peice and dont tell me rocks out in a very dark mannar. Aftershock, dejavoo and SS are good to.
