How much do you pay to have your hair cut? $$$

In the past 20 years I have had four different people cut my hair. The first was a woman, she did a nice job but was kind of a bitch. She charged $35 for a wash and hair cut. It was kind of a hassle getting it cut by her, I had to make appointments at least a week in advance. I had to pay for parking at her salon as well.

The second was a guy. He charged $35. Ed was funny and a good guy, I could always get a hair cut within a day of calling him. Ed liked to talk and opened his mouth to one of our mutual clients about some things I had said. So I decided to move on.

The next was younger gal early twenties. She charged $40. I liked the way she cut my hair but she was 45minutes away. She always seemed to be on vacation when I needed a hair cut. The main reason I left her was the drive to her.

Now I have Mary who is 10 mintes from my house. She charges me $20 for a wash and hair cut. I can call her and get in the same day.

I kick my self for paying $30 to $40 for a hair cut all these years.

So tell me what do you pay for a hair cut.

Well last 2 times I had to cut my hair it costed me 65 to 70 bucks, but of course I had to dye it as well. And since my hair grows like .000..01 inch per month or less I only need to check any random salon once the dye fades out, that's basically once a quarter.

I pay $5 and it's all walk-ins. I go to the same guy but normally you can go to anyone. The place is huge...about 25 barbers. The guy I go to rocks and he's the most popular, and I usually tip $5, so $10 total.

Today, I usually pay about $25AUD which includes a wash and dry. My previous hairdressers and barbers over the years would charge me between $15-20 when I had shorter hair that didn't require a great deal of work on.

I remember when I was around the age of 5-9, my Mum (Mom) would take me to a local barber in my area...and this guy would have nothing but pictures of luscious topless women with big jugs (obviously taken out of girlie magazines) all over the walls of the store and even had Penthouse magazines available to read. So I'd be sitting there in line and just be glancing around in amusement lol.

$25 plus a $10-15 tip. She's been cutting my hair for the past 5 years. I now live 45 minutes away from her but still swear by her, she is awesome. I realize that it's on the higher side, but there have been only 4/5 times in that time that someone else has cut my hair and I wasn'y happy. I usually see her every three to four weeks. Actually, I am due to go see her. I also get my hair shampooed and can call and get in the day of.
