I don't know if Matt Bruck is "The Guy," but he would be an interesting dude to converse with.

My apartment and recording studio are starting to look an awful lot like that last picture--guitar necks and parts everywhere (and funny that right now I've got about five Wolfgang necks sitting around).

My buddy and the lead singer of my band, who is a father to a ten-year-old, routinely tells me that his favorite part of the VH show in '04 was when Wolfgang came out and played "316" as backup to his dad's solo. I'd been keeping up with all the reviews and setlists, so I knew it was coming and didn't really think a whole lot of it except that it was cool they had Wolfie come with them to the Twin Cities. The more I think about it, and especially when I see that picture of Wolfgang with the striped, uh... Wolfgang, I really like the gesture of "one generation to the next."

    Default Update

    Update from the guy....

I am going to clear a few things up right now.

Dave is still part of the 2007 plans and nothing has changed. I read on that other site where someone claims to know that he is out again.

The tour will start in the spring, there will be some new material to coincide with it and it sounds pretty damn great right now even though its not completed lyrically yet.

Even though he has not been playing bass for very long, Wolfie has been playing the guitar for quite a long time and he has the chops. The playing won't be a problem and from what I have heard, vocally it won't be bad either, he's not Mike but he's not bad.

An announcement could be coming in just a couple of weeks, thats how well things are going.
This is a mature Van Halen, just playing the tunes and rocking out. Even though they have a 15 year old member now.
Don't expect the heavy partying boys of the late 70's-1984, they are having fun again plain and simple.

Sounds like good news is on its way. Although we can never be 100% certain until there's a formal announcement a certain silence from one Mr Roth to me is the biggest pointer to this thing now happening - can't wait!

I can see it going either way. Those who buy the tix know what they're getting, so I can see him being accepted (or perhaps tolerated is the word). The fans most likely to boo won't be there

Unless, of course, he totes out a JD bass for a solo, or Ed says something ludicris ("He's better than Mike ever was") or something stupid like that, then it's another story.
Don't drink the Jim Jones punch. They're called theToxic Twins for a reason...

the more time passes and the more i think about a VH w/ a 15 year old on bass the more i think i'm going to pass...and i don't care who this "guy" is...i find it hard to believe DLr would be a part of this
    let's be real...EVH was GOD

Runnin' might put too much focus on the fact that there's a little kid on bass - knuck

I found it hard to believe he would quit VH in 85', I found it REALLY hard to believe that they would work with him again (96)...........I never say never with this group anymore.

    NOTHING surprises me anymore !

I could see him doing it.......I mean, what else is he gonna do this summer? Tour with a cover band and play a classic VH setlist anyway.......so he might as well go along for the ride with this setup and make a ton more cash for it.
