    Default Halfway to Memphis

which version of Halfway to Memphis do you like the best and why?
I really like the music better on Not 4 Sale but the vocals on Livin' it Up.

the original....parts of it made me think Sam was talking to Ed in that song but I'm probably wrong. N4S is a good cd, not my favorite Sammy offereing but it's still good.

the version on livin it up is good and I think it's neat that it could transer so well to more of a country vibe but I prefer my Hagar to be a little more rockin'.

the original by a mile. What a great song.

Not 4 Sale is my favorite solo Sammy cd. I dont' know what it is about the album, but I love just about everything on it. That's the first album INO, where they sound like a tight band and the album just has a live feel to it, nice and raw.

This new country shit's for the birds man, Sammy you're the Red ROCKER, so ROCK!

Seriously, Not 4 Sale over Gayin' it Up. I can honestly say I've liked EVERYTHING Sam's done in his solo career other than Livin' it Up. The whole thing was just horrible...

C'mon Sam, drop the Cabo schtick and give me a rock record! Same for the live setting too. Especially at my age, there's nothing to really enjoy about it.
In and out. I didn't even make that pun on purpose.

It seems to me that the newest version is more appropriate, given the content of the song.

Definitely the original. I just don't why soemone would choose to ruin a good song by country-fying it.

I pretty much do the same. Livin' It Up was extremely effortless I thought. Why in the hell would he make a country version of his own song? I hope his next album is rock n' roll and completely originals.

Ouch I'm 3 years older than you and I love the album. Trust me go see Sam live, try to get on stage... you'll change your mind about the live setting.

I'm surprised nobody has beaten up on you because of your age because you were NOT ALIVE WHILE SAME RELEASED THOSE PREVIOUS SOLO ALBUMS !!! God knows I have.
