I Surrendered And Bought My First Pair Of Reading Glasses.

Crap.

Four months short of my 43rd birthday I had to buy reading glasses. I'd been fighting this for almost seven months, hoping that somehow it would get better (it actually did, 20 years ago my eyes developed a slight stigmatism that mysteriously went away a few months later), but no, not this time.

I'm still the only member of my family that doesn't wear glasses full time and my medium and disatnce vision is still in the kick-ass catagory. It's just that my eyes don't focus as fast as they used to from near to far.

Still, it sucked to admit it. It sucks because it's a sign of age.

Hell, I've even caught myself looking at real estate on the internet.

Well I totally fucked up my vision 4 weeks ago, so I'm kinda wondering if I'd be able to bring it back to somewhat decent with exercises, which helped when I had the same problem in the high school.

What about the whole laser correction thing and blah?

My girl says I look sexy and smart when I wear mine, so that can always be a good thing!! Age does suck tho...

Got pink eye this past August, vision stayed blurry for weeks afterward. Turned 40 in Sept. Went to see the eye doc; she said I need reading glasses, so I went a bought 3 pair; 1 for home, 1 for work, 1 in my car. I've always had 20/20 vision, can't believe it - I'm getting old!

Now all you need to do is get about four different pair. One for the car, one for the office, one for the house and one for a spare cause your gonna lose a pair somewhere.

Yup. Around the time I turned 40, I found that I had to lay the newspaper on the floor of the bathroom to read it. This led me to checking out those cheapy "reading glasses" available for under $10, which I'm certain made the situation worse, destroying what vision I had left.

On the plus side, I finally got the "John Lennon" specs I'd always wanted.

Now as for the memory loss...
