Default Eddie Gets Tough Against The Competition

Apparantly Eddie's "people" pressured Guitar World to bump an article originally scheduled for the March issue on a one-handed guitar player who among other things, performs a stunning version of "Eruption" from the same issue in which Ed talks about his new Frankenstrat Fender guitar and 51503 Amp.

Why? The reason the mag was pressured to bump the article was this guy plays with a Music Man Axis.

Now how would Ed now about this article? Do they let him know that was going to be in issue or what?

It's to coincide with the announcement of the RRHOF inductees. Any chance of that guitarist and Rick Allen having a side project in the works?

Apparantly, someone on GW's staff who's in charge of co-ordinating upcoming articles brought it up to someone in Eddie's camp and in no uncertain terms GW was told to move the article off that issue or lose the exclusive interview with eddie. And seriously, who do you think GW is gonna bump when push comes to shove?

I would say that's not to far out an idea. GW cares foremost about selling advertising space. Ed has sold more issues than anyone else. I would bet that, just like the Super Bowl, GW's advertising rates may even fluctuate depending on the expected popularity of an issue. So they're going to do whatever makes Ed happy.

Wait a second here, NEW Frankenstrat Fender guitar?! Is it confirmed that he's officially with Fender now?! I swear, if this guitar turns out to be another $2,000 piece of shit with one pickup... Oh how I miss the Wolfgangs... They were such versatile guitars!

How much more of a dickhead can Ed become? (if this is true, of course).

$2000 guitar? Try $20,000 guitar. My money is that the new Fender will be a reverse-engineered custom shop version of the Frankenstrat. They just recently put out a "Blackie" Clapton strat that is going for around $35,000.

Hopefully, they'll do a model that is also available to the rest of us.
