    Default Who Really Cares?

Let me start by saying even if it was Sam at this point I would not want to see VH again!
Van Halen today is irrelevant in every shape, form, discusion, media outlet, MTV, VH!, fans what ever.
The only ones hanging on are on this board. Now don't mistake this for me bashing VH Fans they have always been the best for Dave or Sam.
What I am getting at is who cares! I am 38 wife kids living in the past is pointless and the people who do are usually flipping a burger, painting a fence, mowing a law, dlv pizza, long hair that is balding (I shaved mine) 10 years ago). I call this the Al Bundy senerio.
It's hard to let go but seriously VH with Dave after the disaster Eddie has become would do more harm then good. I guess for some of you this could be the final closer but for me I'd rather remember how good it was while sipping a drink with the wife in Cabo and just Smile!
Isn't it great when you get with you buddies and say hey remeber in 88' or 79' or 91' or even 84'. That's how I am going to remeber the shows and songs.
I am very happy with watching Sam and Mike play in Cabo and enjoying life.
Maybe when I mid life it I will be interested in the "Train Wreck" called Van Halen but unitl I have that desire to buy a 1966 Mustang, hit the gym real hard, have a pinky ring, grown my hair back out, hit on young chicks I will remeber what was and say yeah I was able to see them during the good days.
The same thing Beatle fans, Led Zepplin Fans, and Black Sabbath fans, have said for years.
I will do this though, go to a show with my buddies and make fun of all you loosers who will be wearing your Diver Down shirts, 1984 shirts that will be fun so look for us.

Peace and have a great Holiday season see you on the other side.

YO Mike what Up! ha you know it's me know brother!

9, I'm with ya there but I never had the opportunity to see Dave with VH... I don't expect it to be 1984, 1979, or whatever again... I'd just like to see Dave singin' the old tunes with the boys again... When I say boys, I don't mean Wolfie either!!!

BTW, what is Sam's take on all of this???

Is that really ' 9 ? I thought his new id was SeriousJuJu.... ? Or did he change back again ?

Anyway, to each his own. I believe that everyone likes a little nostalgia from time to time to remind them of their past or younger days. It's probably healthy for the psyche to look back fondly on days gone by, if nothing else.

Not forgetting that there's a ton of VH fans (regardless of allegiance to DLR or SH) who never had a chance to see DLR & EVH share the stage. Whether it turns out to be a train wreck or they can really recapture some of the past magic is all mere speculation until we see what actually happens (if it does).

I have to agree with 9. Unless they were to come out with a kickass album, or even a few good tunes like for BOV1, maybe. But going out there, no new tunes, with Wolfie...not my thing.

I also agree about Sam. I went to the last tour because I really thought they were getting back to music and I had never seen VH in any form live. If they got together with Sam this summer doing the same thing they are planning with Dave? Not me, no way. I should say, not again.

The only way I will go is if my family is really into going, then I will tag along for the ride. I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun as well, and it will be good to say I got to see Dave and Ed on stage live. But I just can't get excited about this as it is.

Your favorite songs are all from the Hagar-era, so you probably wouldn't get as excited as us die-hards would. I'm one of the few who WILL go without Mike and a new album. This is only because I never had a chance to see Ed and Dave on stage together. It wouldn't be Van Halen, but it would be 3/4, and that ain't bad considering all the issues they've had. So many people are saying they won't go without Mike, but if the tour gets rave reviews and they rip through classics we haven't heard Ed play in years, it will be a temptation...guaranteed.
