I think everyone will give it a listen and I don't doubt it will be good in some form, but it's the way that Ed and Al decide to present it to the public that is going to matter. The fact is that long suffering VH fans want new music, but not at the expense of the legacy and name that we hold so dear and true.

Van Halen can't just throw together any said combination of talent anymore, slap their name on it and expect the fans to accept it as the real thing.

the truth is, however, Ed should give some thought to his fans. There's no justice in any form whatsoever having DLR finally back and Mike out..even if its for a stated,finite period of time.

For example, if Ed would say, from the get-go, that if they make and perform at the RRHOF, it will be CVH, through and through, and then follow that with a slelect 10-15 city tour as cvh, then hang it up,..i'd be fine.

Then and only then should they announce a new configuration and they would then probably get the lion's share of the fans going full-bore in their support.

Of course, one of the qualities that has made EVH so damn good and relevant anytime he write and plays is that he does do whatever the fuck he wants..and you have to respect that to some degree. I do.

Well, of all the reviews I've seen over the years about Roth's solo work while playing VH tunes live, I've never heard anyone complain about the background vocals. So I say do whatever Dave did solo.

I think people put too much meaning into the words "Van Halen".... it has different meaning for everyone but some have it up on some kind of pedestal higher than what the brothers feel it should be, and it's their name !

Well I think anyone of us would be lying if we said we wouldn't listen; most of us downloaded those garbage songs Eddie did for the porno. It doesn't change the fact it can't be as good without Mike, it seriously can't. Wolfgang cannot replace those background vocals, and he should be in his own band, not to mention high school. Eddie is a seriously disturbed individual for even attempting this.
