Ed's first use of wah on record?

I don't know why this just hit me out of nowhere, but I believe Ed's first use of a wah pedal, on a recording, was the solo in Cabo Wabo. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

I could swear that he hits a wah sound near the end of the solo in Ice Cream Man, about four bars before the final chorus. It's just a quick, bending note, but I seriously think he wah'ed it.

Probably the MXR Phase 90 pedal he used to use on damn near every solo back then. You're prolly just hearing the high end of the phase sweep on that one...LOL!

I remember the first time I heared Ed use one and I was really surprised he did. I hate 'em!

And yeah, everytime Ed gets a new toy, you get to hear it over and over and over and over again.

I would love nothing more than for Van Halen (either with Dave or Sam-don't give a shit) and Ed use his original setup for the entire album.

Not to get off topic, but aren't all chaps assless by definition? My fiance is a big CVH fan - I appreciate both eras - and whenever we get into the Dave/Sam debate, I just bring up the chaps. Works like a charm...
