Default My Dream: Monsters of Rock Tour 2007

I thought of this after browsing melodicrock.com:

What do you think 2007 Monsters of Rock Tour? This will be a good year of reunions so why not!!! I don't know about you guys but I'd need a serious change of underwear after this show :-)

    Lineup:
    Van Halen (headline of course)
    Ratt
    Night Ranger
    Winger
--Peavey EVH Wolfgang Standard-Black; 5150 Half Stack

Considering 3 out of the 4 are currently playing 200 seat rock clubs, the firepower is hardly what one would refer to as "monstrous".

Gimme 'Maiden, 'Priest, the reunited Sabbath with Dio and let Velvet Revolver open and park the cars, and then one might have something worthy of the cost of admission.

    If it's a festival tour....I'm out...

No way I'm sittin' thru a bunch of shitty bands to see Ed half hammered doing something he said he would never do....tour again with Roth....

I'd be willing to suck it up for a "Night of Van Halen"....but a festival will flat out suck.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Oh man I love Dio...with Goldie or Campbell? What is your pick?
Maiden won't play here in SoFla :-( Nicko said they just draw here... and he frickin lives here hahaha! I begged.

That show has truly (and sadly) been under the radar here. I found out far too late.

Enjoy yourself, and file a review in the "Music Only" Forum!

I have heard several times on Dallas, TX radio that the Monster of Rock is coming to Dallas in '07....

no mention of who is in the lineup but it was VH's show the last several times it came around.

I'm pretty sure it's just you. None of these bands, or combination of, could make me soil myself. Especially the last three on the list...

that would have been one hell of a show 15 years ago.

today, just give me VH for as long as possible. The only van halen led festival i was at was a mess and that was 10 years ago. I don't have the patience to sit through an 8 hour drunk fest. At 22, i left before the show ended due to the mess the crowd was. At 32, I don't think I'd show up at all. Play an arena and charge whatever you want but I have no interest in seeing anyone else play that night.

I agree. I want to focus on VH. I don't want a shorter set, higher prices, more people, sitting through bands I may or may not like....

Just give me an evening with Ed, Al, Dave, and Mike.

    I don't need anything else.

Evidentally no one here plays guitar hahaha. These bands have amazing guitar players...
It was a commentary on all the 80s bands reuniting.
Eddie Van Halen (at the top of course)
    Reb Beach
    Brad Gillis/Jeff Watson
    Warren DiMartini

ALL KICK ASS! I challenge you all to go back and listen.

The playing is indeed superb. The actual songs, however...
