    Default Reissue DLR Band cd....

    dlr band re-issue

Hey, it's been awhile since i've posted a comment. here's where we stand on the dlr band release. there's a very strong chance that we will have a new distributor for the record and we'll have it out within the 1st qrt of 2007. the goal is to remix the record and hopefully come up with new artwork. no tour is planned in 2007 for this release. however....
get ready for summer 2007! i'm 95% sure that everyone will be very pleased that it is now finally going to happen.
This from a poster at DLR Army. This may be a reason for no new music from VH with Dave.

Aha. So the reason we won't be getting a new VH album is 'cause Warner and/or Ed is afraid of stepping on the toes of Wawazat Records' remix and re-release of a crappy Dave solo album.

    Makes sense.

I actually like DLR Band - it's good - not great - but good. I wouldn't mind a re-issue since the production value was on par with a good demo. But it does beg to be asked - Why? How many copies has it sold? 50,000 max would be my guess. Maybe it is a condition for Dave returning to the fold? He may want a re-mix and reissue of DLR Band and maybe returning to print some of his old solo discs with Warner.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I'll buy it. I dig DLR Band more than Skyscraper and EEAS. No cheesy shit on here, just kick ass rock n roll. IndeedIDo is the shit!

A lot of the guitar work is top notch, you can really tell the tracks that John Lowry played on vs the other guys, not my favorite Dave cd by far but some of the guitar is smokin. I won't say anything about the lyrics cause that arguement is older than I am.

That's great news if the rumor is true. I love DLR Band. Its my favorite DLR solo work; so much so, that I had Dave autograph the CD cover.

    Winners? they come and go..
    Legends? they're forever!

This is a great clip of Dave performing Slam Dunk in Finland. It reminds me of what Dave was like when he'd go out and do what singers do...plug albums. It is nice to hear the hits, but there is nothing like touring behind new and exciting music to re-energize the fan base. My favorite part.....

    "Finland ....mother fucker...you're forever!"

    I'd buy a remaster in a second!

    Crappy? come on..

    It's better than fuckin' Skyscraper..

I would say song for song, it's one of Dave's better efforts...

Agreed, lol, though saying DLR Band is better than Skyscraper is like saying screwing Salma Hayek is better than jerking off with a cheese grater.

Actually, I was gonna amend my statement with a qualifier, but edit time ran out. EEAS and DLR Band are the only two albums I can even stomach from a solo Diamond. The instrumentation on DLR Band is far better - and harder - than all other efforts since Vai's first contribution....the problem with the DLR Band LP is the mix on Dave's vocals. His tone and lyrics are nearly unintelligible, and off-key with what's happening behind them. So maybe this remix from what's-it records might go a long way, if they do what's needed.
