These lists always confuse Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. Two different types of music IMO.

nice list to cause arguments. don't think it means much - any singer list that has Geddy Lee ahead of Mick Jagger doesn't have much cred with me.

I'm Canadian, I like Rush. but c'mon on, Geddy over Jagger? Who are we trying to kid.

Nice to see both Sammy and Dave near the top. We could argue their place until we're blue in the face.

Agreed. Most of those vocalists aren't even near what I'd consider Heavy Metal. VH isn't heavy metal at all IMO.

Joan Jett? Ann Wilson, Ray Davies....heavy metal? nah

    where is Jethro Tull
I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

don't get me wrong here cuz I've got a quick trigger to bash on Hagar but I did have one thought concerning this list. Hagar may top Roth on this list for his independant work. That is one area that I do believe Hagar upends Roth. Roth got a little silly after 84 and Hagar established himself by himself. I do recognize that Hagar has become a parody of himself of late as Roth did in the late 80's & 90's. It was Hagar's work back when that is respectable.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

No Geoff Tate? How could you even have a Top 10 heavy metal singers list without Geoff Tate, hell, he made that list with one track, "Queen of the Reich".....

Gene Simmons? Hahahaha......(well, "Burn Bitch Burn" was a classic )

Actually, the biggest shock here is the fact that Hit Parader still exists....

Agreed on both points. Tate OWNS that list along with Halford, Plant and Dickenson.

And consider the source.... Hit Parader????

I didn't realize that Steve Perry sang metal.

Although I do remember seeing Oh Sherrie quite often on MTV's Headbanger Ball.
