LOS CABOS Honors Sammy

The municipality of Los Cabos, Mexico will honor SAMMY HAGAR December 5th for promoting tourism there. Hagar has celebrated Los Cabos for years via his music and his Cabo Wabo Cantina and tequila. Proceeds from the event honoring him will benefit the Red Cross and Fire Department of Los Cabos.

Jeez, they ought to. Sam's probably done more for attracting people to that tiny part of the world than anybody else. Kewl...

Sammy is responsible for putting Cabo on the map for tourists. Excellent idea for the town to honor him.

very VERY cool...wish I could be there! Everyone I've ever talked to over the years down there just loves the guy and are thankful for all he's done. The people of Los Cabos make their money from tourism and he's definitely brought in a ton of people to the area.

They should just re-name the place "Cabo SAM Lucas".

Damn I would of thought this would of been done 10 years ago. One thing for sure it isn't a 'sleeply town' anymore. I've never made the pilgrimage to Cabo but do they even let you crash on the beach anymore?

It does suck that they won't let Sammy play outside for his birthday. Or they will but city wants to charge him to do it and make him do the promotion. I would think after Sammy promoted his last tour he would be more open to this now but I can't imagine the headaches of working to put on a show in Mexico. I'm sure the laws are confusing and it wouldn't surprise me if some under the table money would be needed. Seems like several years ago Sam said they would charge in 50 G to put on an outside show.
