    What's happening here??

Hi all!! First of all -as always- excuse for my english.
It's been a long time since I posted here last time, and many things happened: I've had the chance to meet Mr. Reb Beach who's a beautiful person and a EVH fan. I've talked to him for a lot of time and he was so cool with me. I was astonished being there talking to my biggest influence on guitar playing (I had the chance to meet Evh in milano in 95, but wasn't that cool)

But I posted this thread for another reason.
I've seen some news here and there about a reunion with DLR () and I wanted to see what heppens here on the good old VhForums..
    And what I see??
Everybody is against EVH, his choices, what he says, the way he wears...
OK I'm with you people whe you say that's a shame Mikey is out of the band, BUT he signed a contract about that. He has no more rights on VH. That's all. Finished. It's sad, but it's just business. VH became great because of business, because we bought all their CDs/LPs/Cassettes.. It's just part of the game. Now, well... If the reunion happens, just enjoy it. If you don't want to go see the band, simply don't buy the tickets. It's easy, but please, don't speak against EVH, AVH, don't start threads DLR vs. SH or "i'm not in if there's no mike". Until a few years ago we would go crazy if DLR and EVH had played together, even without Alex or Mike. So now what's the problem. Leave the people make their choice. Maybe the choices are right, maybe are wrong, but we cannot judge them.

I just wanted to say that because I have the feeling that there is too much hate in this board.. Maybe I'm just getting older..

Thanks for your patience, I don't want to be against somebody. I just wanted to share my feelings. VHForums will always have my full support.
Be ready for my new amp "III OSIS" produced by H^3 in stores soon [that was funny in 2006]

van halen is like a pizza...
Now comes my favorite part of the show. It's my favorite part of the whole evening. We've been on tour since March and I have no better time anytime then right now because I get to go sit down, have myself a nice cold one and listen to the greatest rock n'roll guitar player in the world. Mr. Eddie Van Halen. - Sammy Hagar

Wow. Another personal take on how to perceive a possible reunion.

I feel the Scotty wrath coming upon us....

As an aside, there's far too many presumptions in the post. First, that 'we' all would've gone crazy if Dave and Ed played without Mike and Alex. Nope, I wouldn't have gone crazy, 'cause it wouldn't have been Van Halen. Maybe interesting to check out, but certainly no more or less interesting than The Other Half. Secondly, VH did not become great because of business. VH became great because of creative force, which luckily for them, also generated revenue via mass appeal. Thirdly, we'll judge who we want, when we want. This isn't a VH fluffer board that's always daisies and lollipops and sunshine concerning these guys. You might not be able or willing to judge them. Some of us are indeed willing, able, and can judge them just fine.

LOL, and pleading the case for people not to start Dave vs. Sam debates is somewhat like asking the sun to reconsider coming up tomorrow morning. Good luck with that.

beyond insane. you've outdone yourself. Ed and Dave getting back together to play is no less interesting than Sammy and Mike performing again. One is historical, one is a $20 ticket at your local bar.

Hell, I at least considered going to see the Other Half (but didn't)

I wouldn't even consider seeing Ed and Dave only.

    Just my opinion

If it ain't Ed, AL, Mike and Dave/Sam then I'm not interested at all anymore.

It really is all about the Van Halen Brand. The VH Brand is what people know and love, Ed and Al would not call themselves anything other than Van Halen because of the power the Brand holds. Its a business just like Batch mentioned and just like any other business, people come and people go, but the business keeps the Brand they created. I myself think the people on this board complain too much when it comes to the decisions of the bros VH, they don't owe us a damn thing. If they want to make a CD of pan flute music then let them do what they want, I wouldn't buy it, but let them do what the fuck they want. and quit your bitchin....

I saw Plant and Page without Bonzo and JP and it kicked ass. Throw in a good rhythm section(Tony Franklin and Chris Slade) and I would probably see this also.

It's almost like Menudo.....every couple of decades, we'll have the same band name, different members.

Paul Stanley has talked about that in a recent interview....the branding for KISS is so strong, that he belives the band will carry on without the original members....
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Roth and Eddie playing together are "interesting to check out." (maybe)

"but certainly no more than the other half."
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

Agreed, but Page and Plant didn't sell it as "Led Zeppelin" and they did new music for that first tour and eventually an entire new album and toured on that as well.

maybe because neither of their last names were Zeppelin.... should Ed and Al call it Van Halen and Van Halen?

Thanks for sharing, Batch. I think we're all more than a little frustrated at the moment. Not only with the band, but with the daily spite swirling around nearly every thread regarding possible 2007 happenings.

ScottyB basically nailed it, though. The brothers are going to do what they want to do, regardless of what us net geeks think. Kinda childish to let that develop forum drama.

Again, let's keep personal thoughts on this subject tied to the main reunion and HOF threads. Thanks.
