Save The Cheerleader: The Official 'Heroes' Thread
OK, so I'm thinking this crazy show deserves its own thread around here now. I've watched since episode one, and the show has gotten progressively better every week, IMO. At first I assumed it would achieve "quirky cult show" status and die sooner than later, but I'm really enjoying it — silly as it can sometimes be.
Who caught last night's episode where Sylar's identity was revealed? Seems to me Claire's father isn't the bad dude he was originally portrayed to be.
Anywho, I'm diggin' in.

For those out there wishing to catch up on this terrific show, Wednesday evening, Sci-Fi channel will be running a "Heroes" marathon. Dunno when it starts, so check your local listings.
The channel also repeats Monday's episode at 7PM(EST) Friday evenings, and once again Moday evening before the current episode airs.
It was sad last evening when Hiro found that he could not always change the inevitable. Next week is the final show of this year, by the way. Not sure when it returns."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

I'm sort of in to it, but not like 24 or Lost or anything. I missed the first half hour last night, so got a little lost when I finally tuned in.

Guess one could say that Claire's father has motives somewhat less than altruistic, eh? Wiping out his wife's memory several times (a skill I honestly envy beyond belief!
) along with that of his son.
And Peter's a walking time bomb? Come on January 22!
Unlike "Lost", this show actually makes an effort to keep one turning in each week."The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."George Bernard Shaw

Yeah, great episode last night. I was thrilled to see we won't have to wait TOO long for the season to continue.

It's a good show, sort of campy, sort of like a Lost with lots of questions needing answered. It was freaky when Sylar broke the glass and snatched that girl and then the guy asking Claire if she can keep a secret.

I'm the same way, Scotty. Best show on TV, IMHO...
BTW, they keep saying when it returns April 23rd, that episode will be the one "that leads to the final chapters"...WTF?! Is this thing going to be canceled in less than a year?! I think it has to do with the climax of the current storyline. Yeah, it's been a huge hit. It will be interesting to see how many of the same characters carry over to the second season. Because of the nature of the plot, I'm not sure the show can survive without shifting gears from season to season. A brand new cast and set of circumstances from year to year would do wonders for its longevity, IMO.
Without a fresh plot, it'll really run the risk of getting stale.
For now, though, I'm lovin' it.

What's with this second hiatus, tho? April 23??? WTF???? What happened to the good ol' days when shows were on for more than 10 weeks at a time????

I've been wondering when somebody was gonna pipe-up about this. It's a big topic at other forums I visit. The show has already been picked up for a 2nd season, BTW. It's a success, and growing every week, unlike "Lost".
Each week I keep thinking that they'll never top the "last one", and then WHAM! They do it! I didn't buy-into this series at all when it was first advertised, but I started watching after the New Year, and I can't believe how awesome it is. Like most, I'm a late-bloomer with it.
I shouted OUT LOUD when Mohinder tied that sick f*ck Sylar up in the chair and pointed a gun at his head. Of course, the tables were turned in the end, but I still can't recall getting this excited over a show in a while. You really ROOT for these characters. Or hate them, even. Whatever the situation calls for.
Supposedly not everyone will return next season, as they want to keep the smaller story arcs moving while introducing new ones. The producer has said it will continue to be ".....more 24 than it is Lost.....".
Thank goodness.

Every time I think I have this show figured out, they lose me again. I love it, but every week I threaten to turn it off and not watch again if I don't get some ANSWERS!
By the way, I'm not real good with baby-steps. My specialty is ass-kicking. -DLR

Huh? They answer questions in 2 or 3 episodes that would take Lost 3 seasons!!! This is a fast, fast moving television series compared to almost everything out there.
Episode after episode, they continue to feed us with answers, useful background, and insight. You must be watching "Lost".
