5150 Outtake Called I Want Action

What the hell is this?? Sorry if this is old news but I've never heard this song before. This is news to me.

If I remember right (haven't listened to it in a long time) that song can be heard on the "Dawn of 5150" bootleg, it's a 5150 leftover. It's basically an other version of "Stompin' 8H", the song he played at SNL.

I do beleive Summer Nights replaced that song on 5150. I also thought DLR was involved in the lyrics of I Want Action.

The groove at the beginning sounds like Good Enough. Definitely from 5150 era. I can understand why it didn't make it to album though. Shows promise but ultimately doesn't live up to by the end of song. I wonder if this music was from one of the songs Dave worked on before he left. I always wondered what they would've sounded like.

Any body have an MP3 of that. That was pretty damn cool. I like the Stompin riff with the lyrics. Much cooler than Dirty Water Dog. Sounds kind of like a Robert Palmer song

Definitely a song that had potential. It needed to be tweaked a bit but you could see they were headed somewhere with that one. They should have cleaned this one up and included it on 5150 in place of Get Up. Get Up is fucking horrible.
