Default Conressman Charlie Rangel Paves Way For Republican Control in 2008

This fat-assed piece of shit should shut the fuck up:

    http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/01/07/rangel.draft/

I guess this retard isn't happy that his party is in control of both houses of Congress. That's the only reason that I can think as to why pussnuts would even suggest ths idea.

He might as well wear a "McCain in '08" button too, fucktard.

And as far as I know, this guy isn't even thinking of making a presidentital bid. Sometimes when a politician from either side thinks of running, you'll see him or her come back toward the center to appease moderates, but other than that, I cannot imagine why a Dem would talk like this.

He's introduced a draft bill once before I believe, and of course it was voted down quite easily. It's his way of forcing people of all economic backgrounds into combat, so it's not just people of lower income, minorities, etc. It's his form of punishment for rich families' children not being in the mililtary in the 1st place. This accomplishes nothing, except further proof of what a jackass he is.
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

"Under his bill, the draft would apply to men and women ages 18 to 26; exemptions would be granted to allow people to graduate from high school, but college students would have to serve.

Anyone who didn't qualify for military service because of impairments would be asked to perform community service."

I actually got chills from reading that and became scared. Rumsfeld is right for once that there is no need for the draft because weve got enough troops right now. But fuck heads like this try and pull this shit so they can make a name for themselves. To me, the draft is just a waiting list to die quicker. Luckily for me, NONE of the branches will take me because of my medical history (asthma all my life, pneumonia 20+ times, lung surgery etc...) but according to this assholes bill, I would have to do community service.

    This is so disgusting....

Note: THE ABOVE POST REFLECTS MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWS ON THE DRAFT. If you agree with it, good for you, if not, thats your business.

I love that politicians can fool around with legislation to forward their own agenda. What an ass.

In my time in I worked with people that came from wealthy families, middle class families, low income families, college educated, not colleged educated, you name it. Hell, the college that my wife teaches at has more students from lower income families then any that I knew in the Marine Corps.

We had our share of wealthy retards that joined the Marine Corps to "challenge themselves before college". Please lord, don't let more of them in, they are a complete waste of tax payer dollars. Let them suck off their parents until their mid 30's and then let them run a Fortune 500 company like their supposed to. All they will do is fuck up the military, we already have to many worthless pieces of crap as it is.

Here's the numbers for recruiting for 2006:

    http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joini...recruiting.htm

Show me where we have a problem.

I hate to quote the Heritage Foundation but their numbers are solid:

    http://www.heritage.org/Research/Nat...y/cda05-08.cfm

The idea that only the poor and minorities are bearing the burden is a lie that started back in Vietnam and was dug up again by anti-war retards in 2003.

The largest group are Middle Class white males.

I was suprised to find that California and Massachusetts had the highest percentage of citizens in service (around 13% each).

Anyway, it's a game played by people who want to undermine the only government department that's successful. If you think about it, where else can a young person, who's physically fit, get a job where they teach you real-world skills and pay you to learn? You get clothes, food and a place to live. It's not all combat arms either and there are more jobs in the service where you will never fire a weapon after basic training.

If the Democrats were smart they'd start up the C.C.C. again so that there could be a civilian/non-military version of the military, but asking them to be smart is a tall order.

To me it's fairly simple for someone who can handle the discipline and has the ability to complete training. As Axx said, where else can you get paid to learn instead of the other way around? Some 24 years later, it still pisses me off that my college education is basically worthless. The one thing I did in college that I still use today? Typing, for crying out loud! My oldest son has an interest in engines and mechanics and such and to me, he could get a good jump start on that in the Army if he so chooses. I know the pay isn't the greatest, but it still surprises me that these guys aren't able to sock a little away as most everything they do is paid for. But if he does or doesn't go into the military, I hope that it's his choice. I'm not sure that it's a good idea to have people in the military who don't want to be there. Some malcontent is liable to get everyone else killed...

The pay isn't that bad considering the initial skill's required to be "hired". I made $45,000 after tax last year (2005) as a Staff Sergeant. That's not great but considering I didn't have to worry about half the stuff normal people worry about and that as an E-6 I don't have to take any shit from anybody. One of my best friends ever only stayed for 4 years. He didn't spend any money on anything. None of us knew how much money he had saved up (some of us thought it could be as much as $80,000) but I know one thing. I happened to answer his work phone because he was out of the office. It was his bank, they wanted him to move some of his money from his checking account and put it into his savings account, he had to much money in checking! He also managed to knock out 90% of his college requirements and slept with more women while out of det. then I can even begin to count.

If your son lives in Florida then he should look at the Air Force or the Navy if he wants to work on engines. The Air Force is the best service over all in terms of basic quality of life for the average enlisted man. Great food, great base locations (the best are in Florida) and if he's squared away they've got rapid promotion. My brother had 11 stripes by the time he retired. Remember, the airforce has more cars, trucks and bulldozers than they do airplanes so he could get paid for a job that he can walk off the base on his last day and get hired before the sun goes down.

My brother's only regret was not signing up for the Air Force Reserve after he got out, it would have been an extra $1200 a month.

The Navy's not bad either but their enlisted guys don't seem to have as much fun.

The Army's cool to, if he want's a little action he could be a crew chief on a Blackhawk, that way he could work on their jet engines and be a doorgunner too. If not, they've got bulldozers, trucks, Hummers and motorcycles too....and Tanks.

All good advice. I would just add Avionics to the list of jobs to look for. You have to enlist for 6 years and the school will take 2 years by itself but it's worth it. They promote fast no matter what aircraft you end up working on and if you decide to get out there are many civilian jobs out there that support the military. They hire tons of avi. guys regardless of their experience. It's the most lucrative MOS in the airwing by far.
