Shari, I resemble that remark. Not quite a low-blow, but close. FTR, its not that I don't agree with the majority, it just gives me the creeps. Nothing great was ever invented by a group thinking collectively. Collectivism reeks of communism; which gives rise to totalitarian dictatorships. I prefer individualistic independence over massive group-think government cheese.

While its true I've been so very misunderstood, I truly enjoy castigation if it means I suffer so I can be free. Independence is such a dear liberty that I'd rather be free and have nothing than have mass approval and be owned. Dissect the brain of any living creature that possesses a dominent hierarchy and you'll discover that it won't really care who's following. Its leading the pack to get away from the pack out of intellectual claustrophobia, regardless of the motivations of its followers.

I really do prefer to be loved to be hated than to be hated to be loved. It fills a need somehow within my being that has its roots in unselfishness; and dare I say it: compassion. I don't want to see anyone enslaved by any type of systematic design that stiffles creativity, and I often sacrifice my perception by others so that I might serve a lesson for them to hunger to be free.

So, the next time you feel obligated to agree with the group, any group; just ask yourself; are giving up your own intellectual independence and creative wealth as a trade for approval? Chances are most of your disorders are rooted in hiding and masking your true feelings, which is why you cry sometimes and don't know why. I haven't cried for as long as I've been independent from any form of external control over my creativity, and that's a liberation I wish everyone would feel. Just a taste of it would cure most of the ills society experiences, and would wipe out poverty altogether.

You see Shari, I do really care, but I just show it in a different way. So the next time you want to hate me for making you think, just look at that 'hate' as a growing pain you are experiencing, and bend your mind around your own ideas. Feel the roots of your dreams stretching forth to fresh, unexplored terra that is on a vastly opposite tangent from collective agreement and you might realize the oxygen level is quite pleasant.
