Anybody manage to buy a SONY PS3?

I was wondering if anybody got lucky enough to score a SONY PS3 and if you did, are you keeping it for play or are you selling it on EBAY?

I'm not in the market, I actually like my XBOX and XBOX 360 ... I think the PS3 is awesome and one day I may take the plunge and buy on when it is "available". I would just like to know if anyone managed to get one. There was some crazy sh$% going on here in TN the night they went on sale! I went to Walmart Wednesday and saw about 15 tents in the rain with people waiting, and they were 2 days early. Crazy! At one store a guy pulled a gun on someone because he felt his place in line was being threatened. Nut bag.

Yeah I picked one up, I was gonna throw it on EBAY but they are selling lower now. I mean people are still doubling their money. But at first they were going 3000+

I may hold onto it or see how Ebay is doing in December closer to Christmas.

guess i am too old... i dont see the point in consoles if you have a decent PC. and the prices are almost te same now.

Don't get me wrong I am a huge PC fan. But theres a select few games I like on consoles that can't be had on PC. But in the same note I will never ever play a First Person Shooter on a console the controller sucks for that mouse and keyboard all the way.

As far as console games go I think everyone should try God of War on PS2 most fun I had in a long time. I felt like a kid again playing Atari 2600.

Why pay CDN$700 for a PS3 when you can get this. We just bought the PS2 for our son for about CDN$150, so I'll wait about 5 years before buying PS3.

Amen... I feel exactly the same way... I went as far as to buy a PS2 controller and then got an adapter to work through my USB port because I do like that particular controller...

It'll be a long time before Joe Six-Pack can afford a PS3.....Sony is selling them at a $180-$240 loss, depending on which report you believe. It's not like it's going to be priced at $400 next Christmas. It'll be a long time before we see a significant price drop that the average person can afford, and it's the average person that decides these "wars", not the hardcore enthusiasts.

Nintendo has a chance to make some additional profit while waiting to release their true "Next-Gen" console a couple years from now. Or, they can stick to handhelds & software. As always, they'll do whatever is profitable for their stockholders.

These are strange times for gamers.

The whole ps3 thing is ridiculous and has greed written all over it. I'm sure they have their reasons, but why didn't the manufacturer make enough to meet the demand? People are getting killed for these things.

Like I said, ridiculous.

I dunno about the PS3 but I managed 2 Nintendo Wiis earlier. My wife will keep one and I will sell the other.

I heard they were supposed to have quite a bit at launch. But the Blu-ray led diode for the laser was short on supply. Whoever is manufacturing them is not getting enough made. The yeild is still low on this new hardware. But as time goes by they will get the yeild up and start pumping them out. I am surprised this is all the problems they are having considering the Cell CPU has 8 cores in the damn thing.

Not mention they had to get it out to compete with the Xbox 360.

I think the Wii looks kinda cool, my kid wants one.
